Odor Vs. High

Is there any correlation between the strength/type of odor a plant gives off and the strength/type of high the plant's bud will produce?

This started off as a grow question in my mind, but doesn't necessarily have to be one.

usually i would have to say yes. odor and potency are directly related.

i can also say no to this because ive had buds that smelt like nothing and still got me pretty high.


final answer is yes. odor/potency are related

mm good point i reckon the experienced folks will know. i know certain strains can have certain distinct smells like skunk or haze which i guess will give more a high towards whichever is smells most like...maybe?

i say no. they may go together but one doesn't always equal the other.

well skunk is just a stinky strain of ganja. it really depends on the strain. some strains have an amazing, intoxicating smell that will get you high just from sniffing it. but the high can be mediocar at best.

damn serious? thats sweet! oh btw did u know how long it took me to figure out skunk was a strain and not just a term for strong weed? fecking scottish newspapers btw lol ("new killer skunk on the streets") heh. only found out when i started off the whole grow thingymajigger.

some strains will have a really strong odor and they will get you really high...but ive smoked weed that smelt nasty like regs, and didnt taste to good either but got me stoned as hell....so idk, in most cases yes, but not always.
