Gnats are a sign of improper watering, the soil is staying damp. Aerate the top layer of soil and stop watering too frequently, let the soil dry.
I see them in the bottom around the drain holes and under the pot, they love coco and the medium needs moisture all the time, its hard to run hydroponics and have a dry top, if the top is dry they will lay eggs in the bottom, Im becoming convinced that keeping them out of the rootball is the long term best method, one ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

The plastic saucer is split so I can open it around the clone stem and lay the net top in the dish then fill the saucer with dry sand, the drippers are under the saucer so the sand in it never gets wet, as the clone grows a thicker stem I then remove the saucer and pull the draw string and tighen the net around the plant, total end of Gnats. its easy to see them inside the net and just a quick spray of alcohol and they are dead, pretty soon no more hatch out.

Those AirPots are like a haven for gnats. they love it. They get in those little holes and meet in there and make babies and when you think there gone bam they come back out. It sucks because they have access to wet areas of soil constantly without letting your entire pot dry out which is basically what you’ll end up having to do. Like somebody else said before though they don’t really do anything to mature plants Just babies

Seems like overkill for a soil grow like the op has.

Yeah true the airpots are a magnet for Gnats but that net bag stops them totally in airpots or any pot, thesedays I don't care if I see a few in the room I know they cant do anything, no overnight hatch out and sudden infestation, I been battling them for a year or more at this place, they would get into every system even DWC where they would get into the air gap and lay eggs on anything out of the water and then boom they in plague proportion in the root system and caused root rot, and these were large plants in flower, Ive tried heaps of things and these paint strainer bags are such a simple fix and reusable, cost a couple of bucks a bag, a neem oil drench cost 30 bucks and don't end it, I was applying it weekly a Bti drench in between and they always came back, been one major headache for me put to bed for good..

Just to add I was a little late in getting the bags over my latest plants, over the last few days Ive killed probably 100 or more inside each bag so I must have had a few eggs laid, I don't have any fliers at all in the room and without those bags Id have over a 1000 in the room, its the 2nd week of flower so I can see I would have had a massive problem this time around, normally I give a drench if Microbelift BTi but I didn't this time and maybe that's why I had a big hatchout.

Definitely! I’ve seen if you slack on preventing it from coming it’ll show up and destroy like a biblical plague
