Off Topic but you guys are the most tech savvy - Finding an anode/carbon rod to make Mite-Wash

Apologies if this is off topic but you guys are the most tech savvy on the forum. This guy shows you how to make Mite-Wash with electrolysis water like a famous mite killer solution. The cost is dirt cheap but I am trying to figure out where to get a cheap anode aka carbon rods.

You can get DC adapter at goodwill or on Amazon. Anyone tried this?

I guess I sharpen the pencil so it has lead tip but how do I hook up wires to the pencil? Cut in and wrap around lead and tape like the guy in the video said or tape to metal on eraser? I doubt artists pencils have erasers. Thanks..
