Originally I wasn't going to top the plants but I'm starting to think it might be a good idea. I'm planning to flower them relatively early so I'm not sure if they will have enough time to develop suitable branches to be used for clones. I've topped every plant I've grown so I don't know how quickly the branches will progress with out it. After about how many weeks does an untopped plant take to develop suitable branches? thanks in advanced

The girls are all looking good, very green and no yellowing so far. Theres starting to be a very clear difference in the growth rates of the plants. Some are finished with their 4th set while others are still starting their 3rd. There will be a picture update tomorrow.

Thanks but number 5 has a couple of spots on one of its leafs, otherwise they all look pretty healthy, even their cotyledons are green and healthy. Ive heard of people keeping them the entire grow but i doubt I'll be able to do that.

Numbers 2, 5, 6, and 8 have all started branching, number 8 is the furthest fallowed by number 6 and then number 2. Number 2 and especially 5 have really just started but seem to be the healthiest of all the plants. Their leafs are thick and strong, when you press on them they have good tension pushing back.

Heres an early shot at #6's branching. All of the plants that have begun branching are loosing their cotyledons.

Ive already posted this in the design and set up forum but I guess I might as well post it here too.

Well I've been planning on making a new grow box for flowering for a while now and today I bought a 400 watt hps for 120$ from a friend. This is the design I've thought up. My questions are these, would it be better to put the plywood on the inside or outside of the frame? What kind of exhaust fan would you guys recommend?. I'm thinking of picking this one up but It seems like it might make a lot of noise Inductor 8 In. In-Line Duct Booster Fan - DB208 at The Home Depot I'm planning on putting a fan in the exhaust and probably a smaller one blowing across the light. I will probably add a third one to blow against the actual plants. How is this set up looking? Will I most likely have a heat problem?

Sorry that I haven't been updating much but I'm a stoner so what do you expect?:joint:
Bad news though, my light fell last night because it was designed by a retard (me) and number 6 was burned pretty bad. I rearranged the pots so that the larger plants get the best might. The numbers haven't changed though it is a hell of a lot more confusing for me lol. You can see threw the leafs in some pictures to the yellow otyledons.

Upgraded my lights slightly. One of my bulbs stopped working last night so I only had 5x26 watts going, so today I stopped by home depot and got a couple 30 watts. Now I have 12000 lumens 5x23 watts and 2x30 watts. I decided to get the middle spectrum instead of the pure blue. I figured having a fuller spectrum of both blue and red should give better growth.

Replaced the burnt out 26 watt bulb so now I have 6x26 watts and 2x30 watts totaling 13600 lumens and 216 watts.

Well all my girls have preflowers now and it appears the seeds are feminized because there are no males. That or my eyes deceive me haha. I guess we'll have to wait a bit longer to make sure. I talked to my friend that the seeds came from, it seems either his og or his penis maximus got to stressed and hermied. They never found the male flowers so this could either be OG x OG or OG x Penis Maximus.

PS Im sorry but I probably wont have any picture updates tell saturday or sunda

Since I now know they are all females I'm not going to be updating this grow very much any more. I will probably post some pics once in a while but at the very least ill take pics before and after I flower.

Well since I went way off topic I'll give you the short answer here: Probably around august 9th aka: day 60

Originally I was going to flower as soon as possible to get rid of the males but since I found out they are probably all females I decided I would just get rid of the weaker ones and let the stronger ones grow out more fully. I got rid of numbers 1 3 and 7 because they were in all aspects inferior, they had no branching, their smell was weakest, and they were the least bushy. I started LST on the remaining plants Tuesday because I need to see which one has the best branching properties. I am probably going to be doing a scrog with the clones after I find the best mother so I need to see who is the strongest brancher. I'll post some pics on Monday if I can get a chance. I really underestimated how much work it is to have a grow journal lol.

Hey its day 35 already and I'm down to 6. They are all doing pretty good right now. The longest of their branches are about 1 1/2 inch longing at the moment.
In the order they appear 564
------------------------928

9 on the left and 5 on the right. They aren't doing the best nor are they doing the worst.

6 on the left and 2 on the right seem to be responding the best.

4 on the left and 8 on the right seem to be the weakest of the bunch.

Look at number six on the left. See how the leaf is curling due to heat stress? Well i didn't and the significance of this escaped me until now. The other night a piece of plastic fell and covered the intake fan, the heat sky rocketed and number 6 shriveled up like a raisin, now dead as could be. Numbers 2, 9, and 4, were all almost unaffected by the heat. Number 8 took some damage but will be fine. Number 5 lost the very tips of some of its leafs but will also be fine. Finally today the damage is more clear because its no longer green. Number 6 had very thin leafs which may be the reason the leafs reacted to badly.
