Considering it was first applied to grass valley kush i dont see it meaning ocean grown, lake tahoe is on the nevada cali border. But then again word is the strain came from florida so who knows. I do know that in the urban communities it means original gangster and has since the 80s

Depends what your referring to. Like already said, urban areas it means original gangster. For cannabis it means ocean grown. There are several threads about the origin of og kush. One of them says it's the cut that was grown somewhere on the coast of cali. So they call it ocean grown kush. ...... so the story goes. Now days breeders add og to a strain name because people recognize it

I still think original is way too fucking tacky, who the fuck is the original gangster? Sure that guy was clubbed to death a long ass time ago. If anything it should stand for Old gangster, proveing the idea that being an old gangster you was prolly there from the start, hence original.

that's why i just prefer the original, without the gangster added on the end of it..

I catch your drift. Though doesnt OG kush place an image in your head of an old retired gangster sitting on his porch smoking joints all day?
I dunno maybe cause i know a guy like that i get that imagery.
