Hi guys

A few pics of the plants. I went in the cabinet today and noticed something eating the leaves of one of my plants. All the intake air and out take is filtered and the cabinet itself is air tight. The only thing I can think of is I moved them outside for a day when I was building the cabinet frame. I sprayed one of the plants down with a hot pepper mix I boiled down, and pulled the one plant that is effected out.

Any advice? Im freaking out :)Screenshot_2014-08-16-20-53-59.pngScreenshot_2014-08-16-20-54-35.png Screenshot_2014-08-16-20-53-59.png Screenshot_2014-08-16-20-54-35.png

I can't see a thing from those pics myself. Have you looked under the leaf? The tops look clean to me.

I found a green caterpillar under one of the leaves! I think it was just the one, I went through the rest with a flashlight and didnt see anything else. Is there something I can use to kill them (in case I missed any) that wont harm the plants? They just should sex 7 days ago and have some nice white hairs coming in.

caterpillars?

you need BT!

$10 and you can pick it up from home depot or any garden store really.

it'll be advertised as "caterpillar spray" and the active ingredient will be "bacillus thuringiensis".

go forth and prosper now.

Yep defo caterpillar. You can tell by the pattern it's eaten your leaf.

Check for larvae to but the spray should kill it if it's good stuff. Little bastards Lol

Thanks fellas! Much appreciated. Will hit them with some dt as soon as the lights come on. Here are some more pics. Do you guys think I should transplant to bigger pots? Here is one of the roots of the male I pulled. Screenshot_2014-08-17-00-25-03.pngScreenshot_2014-08-16-20-54-43.png Screenshot_2014-08-16-20-54-56.png

it wont hurt to transplant into larger pots, There is still time though judging from your roots. IMO

your plants look nice and healthy so probably to do it before an root bound issues

The vertical growth is at a crawl on these ladies. I haven't had to adjust the height of the lamp in a few days. It is still sitting 23-24" from the canopy, although there is still a lot of new growth on them. Is this something to be concerned about. Thanks for the step by step in the other thread, cant wait to make some

Books say an inch a day growth but I've found that it goes up then out, up then out. What size pots you got ?

Not sure what the pot size is to be honest. Here a few pics to show the size. I think I f'd them up bad now. My timer didnt kill the lights and I think they stayed on for 36 hours. Im going to invest in a quality timer and watch for hermies. I tied the plants a little last night to spread the branches a bit. Hope I didnt mess them up too much, I guess only time will tell.
The bottom leaves are turning pretty yellow, I think that it never fully recovered even with the calmagScreenshot_2014-08-19-10-04-04.pngScreenshot_2014-08-18-21-26-20.png Screenshot_2014-08-18-21-27-27.png Screenshot_2014-08-18-21-27-00.png Screenshot_2014-08-18-21-27-17.png

the new growth looks healthy enough, lower leaves may not recover but as long as it doesn't keep climbing the plant you're winning, i'd say they look at bit sorry for themselves, youd be looking at plants that size in a 15L pot in my grow room and they stay healthy all through veg so id recommend that from personal experience, its hard to judge what size pot u have. thake that bottle and see how may you can fit inside a pot the same size for a rough estimate, also, i could be wrong but that drooping looks like they are to wet, Have you been battering them with waterings to halt the Deff ? if so give them a rest,

I'd transplant to 15L Minimum pots and let them dry out a bit.

Thats only my opinion by the way lol

They were bone dry in that pic. I just watered today and they perked up a bit. Im going to transplant them tonight when I get home if I can find pots that are big enough. The new growth is looking good just the bottom of the plants are f'd up. I gave them straight water with a little magic cal this past water. They do look pretty sad.

my last grow was a full grow from 3.5 gallon buckets this grow im using 5 gallon nursery pots. you dont HAVE to transplant. I prefer smaller pots for soil grows simply because of my budget. The upcoming hydro grow i'm getting ready for is on 5 Gallon bucket DWC's and eventually im gnna upgrade to a 100 gallon per 5 plants rez.

I'd defo look at getting bigger pots. Just to rule out root problems. If they don't pick up 4 days later then might have to look at deeper issues.
I approach things the simplist way first and gradually rule out what could be the cause and end up at the cause.

Got some big boy pots in the back of the car now, going to transplant tonight and see how it goes. The reason the leaves lpok wet in that pic is because I sprayed them before lights out to rinse any of the caterpillar spray off the leaves. Besides the fan leaves on the bottom the plants usually look a lot more perky than the pics show. They were due for a watering and perked up a little after that. Will post more tonight with pics for an update.

Thanks to both of you for the replies!

They will be fine, I'm sure. Make sure you got at least 2" of medium at the bottom for the roots to grow into. I've heard it helps with shock.
I Look forward to seeing your healthy plants looking happy again!!

I took your advice and got them in 15L pots. They look a lot happier now. I tied them down again, and have some nice new growth.

The only thing I notice with them now is some of the browning and yellowing of some of the fans leafs at the tips and the claw look of them. After transplant I added magic cal and watered. It has been a couple of waters without nutrients other than the magic cal as I thought maybe I was over feeding (usually used less than recommended dose). Next water I will add nutes again. Any thoughts on what is causing the issue? It is really only a couple of them on each plant.

Just out of curiosity, how much water do you put into each pot typically when you water?Screenshot_2014-08-21-20-17-31.pngScreenshot_2014-08-21-20-18-02.png Screenshot_2014-08-21-20-17-45.png
