nah the holes are lined to keep gophers out. just a hose in at the moment, not on a watering system, watered by hand. i go back and forth on whether or not I will set up a watering system. I lean towards no. I like handwatering... but I want to get the system put in anyways so I can flood out the whole garden here and there (which I could do by hand as well its just time consuming). Some of those holes are lined with 1/4" hardware cloth, as it works WAY better than traditional chicken or gopher wire.

checked the sunrise and sunset times for this area, I have also measured that against the location of the garden and surmised that flower will start in approximately 35-40 days (the last week of August). It got me pondering what to expect of the garden. So this post is to see a quick timeline of the changes this Outdoor grow has gone through since its start at the end of April.

April 27th- First plant in the ground. Digging holes and mixing soil.

May 30th-
almost 30 days since previous shot. Note that days are increasing in length rapidly during this time, the weather was hot, and dry. Longer days=more sun exposure increased growth etc...

June 24th
- You can see that once the plants got established, with the days growing longer, hotter, and dryer, and the plant being able to use more of whats in the soil by increasing waterings and amount of water as well as increased daylight they started growing at more accelerated rates.

July 9th- Today. All but 3-5 plants are in the ground (depending on if I add 2 more holes, which I probably will). Look at the growth in just the last 2 1/2 weeks with these longer hotter days, and more water. The key is getting those plants established early and ensuring that they have plenty of everything they need.... I just top dressed the soil with 1 cup blood meal spread evenly in the area inside of gopher wire and cultivated in, and 1 cup alfalfa meal along the outsides of mounds and outside of gopher wire spread evenly and cultivated in (both watered in as well). They were fed with FF Grow Big at 1/4 TBLSPN the watering prior to the top dressing, and I will be Top Dressing more next week (more about that in the full update). Look at the growth and difference!! Fence put up to fend off rabbits and the like, more work to do there as well...

AND.... I expect the Most Drastic vegetative growth over the next 30-35 days! more heat, dry... lots of water, fresh ammendments.... feedings to come!! Im sure I will do another time line comparrison then as well

Thanks, when they go into flower depends on where you are Latitudinal ;) . My light schedule may very well vary from yours. Last year, here.... plants started flowering Very Very end of August, going into September.... harvesting at earliest in the middle of October on early strains, but most finished at the end of October and into November even. The PK SR71 usually goes well into November before its ready. Just working with crosses (including an IBL in progress "F3") of it most particularly, and they will go later... When it comes to those largest ladies in the ground.... I have no idea, we will see and they will be ready when they are ready.... lets hope Im ready when they are!!! haha. Work! oh and I have previous journals/grows here.... not my first rodeo ;) ... though someone on this forum called me a newb not too long ago
