Let me ask you a question, because your arguments have gotten weak, you have to resort to insults now?
Never said I worked in the PNW as a lumberjack, although I did work for the California Conservation Corps for about 7 months. Tell me, have you ever fought a forest fire?

Nope, never fought a forest fire. My brother was a crew chief for the U.S. Forestry Service though. Does that count?

Oh, and exactly which of my arguments have gotten weak, Dank? Come on ... let's see a list. ~lol~

Yeah, I make fun of the old koot, but he looks to be in a lot better shape than I, and he's got 4 years on me. I'm workin on my new diet, eatin less and excercising more. I believe he could run me down in a foot race, but if he caught me and gave me a few seconds to catch my breath, I think I could take him. afterall, how tough is a 70 year old salesman compared to a 66 year old concrete man and barroom brawler, (In my youth).

Actually, Dankster ... and you too Med ....

I worked at a gas station on a part time basis for a time. In fact, a friend and I started working there part time just to help a friend out who was trying to get his station going. Both my friend and I had previous sales experience and we made a concerted effort to see what we could do with the friend's station. I won't go into details, but it was quite mind-boggling. The station owner would watch us and just shake his head in disbelief. It was so much fun. I've got some real nice memories from that little excursion. Let's just say that the TBA went flying out the door.

Med ... I actually respect your efforts. The gas station business is kinda like the restaurant business. The general public has no conception about how hard it is to be a success in those businesses.

Hey VI isnt your buddy in this debate the one that said....

"My point is cleaning bedpans in a hospital for a while doesn't make you into a doctor."

Im not trying to make any point I was just stating an observation.

Who ran around a hospital cleaning bedpans?

Now as far as being a good salesman, all that takes is to be a good con man, you have to have the ablility to convince someone they can't live without what ever it is your selling. Vi, How long did you sell Trane Air conditioning systems? :D

Fuck you guys. You don't know of what you speak. ~lol~

Yes, I'm in great shape ... and thanks for the compliment, Med. I work out five days a week and I eat right. Jack LaLane is right, guyz ... you CAN extend your youth way beyond what is considered "normal." I have a picture of an 83 year-old guy on my refrigerator. The guy is RIPPED! Just as one part of his daily work out, he does 500 situps. Muscles respond to stress no matter what your age is.

On the "con man" remark: I'll be perfectly honest with you guyz ... the very best salesmen in the world are in prison. They are con men. Now, with that said, I'll tell you what the difference is between a con man and a professional salesman. A con man will do anything and say anything to extract money from his Rubes. He uses the very same sales tecniques as the professional salesman ... and he uses them extremely well. Because he ruthlessly extracts the money and has NO care what-so-ever about his dupes, he ends up in prison.

The professional salesman, on the other hand, NEVER does anything that would be a disadvantage to his client/customer. Because he is honest to a fault, his customers continue to come back to the professional salesman to do more business. They send him referals like crazy. They send their relatives, friends and business aquaintences.

The con man ends up in prison.

The professional salesman ends up wealthy.

PS: If any of you guys who are growing old, and/or find yourselves getting obese like the "average" American these days ... and you want some friendly advise on how to cure yourselves of that life shortening disease, I'd be happy to help you out via PMs.
Its true, you CAN smoke dope and stay in shape.

You must have missed the part where I said "Fuck you guys." ~lol~

Med ...

Its not too late to get into shape. You don't have to be a Mr. Universe winner. The idea is to feel better and have more energy. Honestly, its not as hard as it sounds. It DOES involve changing what you put into your body though. I'm not talking about starvtion diets here, just a change in foods. Honestly, once I discovered what I, and most other Americans are eating, I was totally shocked. You always comment on the evils of American corporations ... well, the processed food industry is one of the most evil of all. They are literally poisoning us with their food additives all in the name of profit.

You can make a GREAT start just by eliminating ALL corn syrups and ESPECIALLY High Fructose Corn Syrups from your diet. Read every label ... if HFCS is one of the ingredients, pass it up. This one move alone will cause some major improvments in your waist line and diabetes control. And it will do it very quickly. Good luck ...

I don't know where the thread is going, but if you check out the local Whole Foods Market in your area, you'll find its hard to find anything in the store that contains High Fructose Corn Syrup.
