Safer? For plant, grower?Oil filled much safer.
Yeah, My first thinking was the humidity and an electric heater was scary, but I know ppl who have or do use them. Cheaper, but ... What size is yours. I found 700-1500 watts sizes. Currently, my tents sits at 70-75, but it's dependent on my forced air system, so it goes up and down 68-75Have had all of them in my grow room, by far the safest, and the one that won't mess with your plants with unwanted light is an oil filled. I picked up mine on sale at Memards for $39.95 and it's kept my grow room nice and warm.
Oil filled is the way, slow indirect heat that sticks around for a while. I run one on the "1" setting with the thermostat at about 25%. Keeps ambient temps around 72-75F
Mine is a 1500 watt, set at 70, and with the light and fan, I'm running an even 75 degrees.Yeah, My first thinking was the humidity and an electric heater was scary, but I know ppl who have or do use them. Hmm, yeah not sure covering will work, nice unit for price, just was thinking …humidityCareful with the lgihts on those digital units! will need to cover them up
If the display is too bright duct or electrical tape will work.Hmm, yeah not sure covering will work, nice unit for price, just was thinking …humidity

Humidity, Light leak ? Two considerations for sure. Why?
So what lights do you use for heat during the 12 hour dark period? The best heater in a grow room is lights.
I've used oil filled radiant heaters in my LED rooms during harsh winters to bring temps up. Downsides of ceramic/forced air heaters is they dry the air out big time whereas oil heaters do not.
Insulation, dehu(s), even without a heater I haven't had temps below 60 °F when its -10 °F outside. I just make sure my VPD stays on point with day/night dehumidifier controller. So what lights do you use for heat during the 12 hour dark period?
