But....as a newbie...how do you get people to respond to your questions.I have searched the site for the strain I am growing and unfortunately, there are not a lot of recent posts, even though Pure Afgan is known to be an easy grower.

She is almost 5 feet tall and in the last few weeks of flowering. (I hope that is...our climate is turning to crap rather quickly). Maybe its just my own personal paranoia, but with the tag "stranger", seems that people aren't so quick to respond, or they make you feel like an idiot.

I have spend most of the summer trying to figure out this process. I am growing strictly for chronic pain. In spite of my attempts to kill her, she is surviving.

I hope people will pay a little more attention to us newbies. We are trying....for many different reasons.

Thank you very much TH. Actually, I think I'm doing alright at the moment...its those hairy times when you don't know what the crap you're doing. I have moved her...put in exposed to light from our living room window....when she is supposed to be in 12/12...duh! Once I realized she stopped doing anything, and also read that there can't be any light other than moonlight...I moved her to a better spot. The photo was from a week ago. She is now in a small greenhouse (well she's 5' so I had to raise the little green house up a bit). Lousy weather...rain and dreary.

Well, actually I do have a questions come to think. Our temps next week are going to be in the low 50's daytime and low 40's night time. Now I know I can put black water cannisters in with her...but if there is no sun, well they are not going to get much heat. Does pot finish regardless of the outside weather situation (obviously not at freezing temps).

You should be alright as long s it doesn't get down around 30f if you only got a week or so left
Thank you C$C for the response. I'm just not sure. I screwed her up so many times and she still smiles back at me. I put her out at 18" the first of August (yes...way too late dummy me). But that being said she is 5' tall and looks live Olkve Oil. One giant cola...with lots of little popcorn below. Saw the female flowers around the 20th of august. Our climate became full 12/12 September. So....I'm figuring end of October. Long range weather says no freezing before then...fingers crossed.

I've really enjoyed all of this. Being disabled, nice to have a hobby and I think I've found one...lol.

Oh also....here we go...the bimbet that had no questions... We had a lot of rain last week. The pistules seem still white but there is a darkening underneath them. Is that normal? I've checked every picture of mold and fungus...but I can't find what I'm seeing. Maybe I'll wait for the darn rain to stop and take a pic and post it. She is still very happy and very green.

Its a great hobby for sure I'm indoor myself usually do 1 maybe 2 outdoors but did none this year. Just think a month earlier and you possibly coulda had a 6 or 7ft monster lol. Its def a learn as you grow thing each strain can handle diff ammounts of ferts and heat/cold so many factors in place but it is a weees and wants to live

pot plants don't exactly love the cold, but 40s and 50s shouldn't kill it, especially in the greenhouse. it will probably make it turn a bit purple, and if it stays that temp for a few days the growth might slow a bit, but as long as there's no frost you should be fine. i can't tell from your pic how far along the budding process you are, but the greenhouse most likely bought you a bit more time. once you start getting frost warnings from the weather service you might have some decisions to make, but 40's and 50's aren't the end of the world.

Thank you TH and C$C. I guess I should have been posting here at the beginning. Seems like you two can nurse the newbies along. I will try and get a shot of the darkening around the pistures. It might just be the natural progression of flowering which I haven't seen. If worst comes to worst, I do have a pretty good light set up inside. May have to chop early...but live and learn. Funny how growing a plant can become and addiction...lol.

Also, she has had nothing but our well water. I added some bloom stuff once, but then she looked so darn healthy, I figured I was better off leaving her alone. Probably the smartest thing I've done yet.

Not sure exactly what you mean darkening? When you can post some pics so we can see what you mean dark spots
If you can see where the white pistulas are attached to the bud? in the second image , it used to be white, now it has gone dark. Is that the normal flowering process of this indica?
(I know its not the best shot. My new camera is supposed to have a 15X zoom but it always turns out blurry) It is now 8 weeks since I recognized she was a female. Shouldn't an indica be further along?
Ok, the third picture I found on another site. This is what I was talking about and I can see now that it is perfectly normal. That problem solved.:weed:

i can't really see too much bud action because of all the healthy foliage but the plant looks awesome. very healthy looking, no yellowing. i agree that i would expect to see more bud weight at this point but based on the pics that plant is not showing any signs of stress. weather permitting she should ripen up nice.

Thank you TH. I must admit that this being the first female I have grown successfully, I have been watching her like a hawk too much. I need to back off, water her, make sure she's comfortable and wait. God, I have no patience at all these days....lol!

Over loving your plant will kill her. Afghani will be fine with your weather. The pistols are turning color because she is starting to finish up. Get a scope and check the trichs. You should have continued to give her nutes that's why she isn't swelling up. You'll be fine happy smoking. Don't forget curing is just as important as growing.

Thanks PnT. I have been reading everything I can on the curing process. I have a perfect little room where the cola's can hang upside down peacefully. Fan if necessary for air movement as well. Also, I think I'll do the canning jar process at the end. After all this, I sure hope I get that part right!
