ok so i got one of these things

well i got one a couple of weeks back and put three seeds i found in it... the only thing is my ag didn't come with any of the holster things so i made some makeshift ones using an old takeaway tray and a car sponge they have all sprouted however i did just accidently cut the roots of one of them in half but crushing it...
also it came with no bulbs so im using a 2700k 45w bulb in a lamp sat on the ag anyone got any advice on how to start my grow? i would say my seedlings are getting onto 2 weeks old about now and the biggest one is only about 1 inch with no real leafs... how far on should they be? i feel like they have taken ages to sprout...

Eyes: It sounds like you bought a used one and hopefully not an abused one, and if you're new to this, go to A/G's website and read everything they offer on line. See what they do, how they do it and for the first couple of crops go with their program before you start trying to modify it. If you follow their lead it's practically idiot proof. When you follow their directions to the letter it's really hard to fail. If you get in a jamb call their free customer service 800 number and they'll be happy to help you. Just tell them you're growing tomatoes. I hope that helps. HSA

Are you talking about one of those bean sprouter things that they put bressel sprouts in ?

Eyes: I guess you could say that. Probably more than some and less than others. I've got three upgraded seven holes, "Classics,"and one A/G-3 in the kitchen that I grow culinary herbs in for my wife. I got my first "Classic" model as a Christmas gift from a friend about seven or eight years ago when they were still trying to sell them from infomercials on late night TV. I only grew their herbs for the first six months or so until I was sure I knew what the hell I was doing. During that time I also researched everything I could find on our favorite herb Then I figured if I could grow herbs for my wife why couldn't I grow my own meds?

I found I could get a crop of personal meds out of one in 3 to 4 months but then there was down time between crops so I bought a second one and staggered the grows. The third one, in conjunction with the other two, has kept me well supplied for about the last five years. They're fun and a great way to learn about hydroponics. I haven't had to go back to the dispensary since.

The only problem in any kind of hydroponics is that it's work, and the last day off you had was the day before you started your present grow. The tiny reservoir makes it even more extreme because things can happen real fast. I hope that helps. HSA

can i ask what nutes you have tried?
mine didnt come with any seeds so i went straight in with 2 bag seed just to try its probably been 2 and a half weeks since i poped em in and they are still only an inch tall and trying to grow out some proper leaves under 24 hour light for the next 3 days then ima go 12/12 to speed things along as this is just for me to see how this thing works

Im using XNUTRIENTS with pleasing results, very user friendly. I sent them an e-mail asking for samples and they sent me GROW/MICRO/ and BLOOM. Enough for 2-3 grows min.

I am using the AG also. One GDP clone, one Extreme Blue Dream from seed, and one Kobe Og from seed. I didn't think of it when i started but it was a bad idea "seeds/clones on different growth weeks", but I just keep trimming and multi-topping the clone untill the others catch up. The clone is 8" and both seeds at 3 1/2"-4". So about a week to a week and a half to catch up. With the AG there is a tendecy for root rot. I was given a sample of "organics insect frass" and it fixed my root rot issue and they have completley returned to growing istead of fighting root rot. By using Insect frass I also found out it's making my seed plants grow a massive amout of roots compared to beforeI used it. I would take a pic but i'm not bright flashing my roots.

Eyes: I found Technaflora's, "Recipe for Success," worked the best for me with an A/G. You can get a sample/starter kit for around $30, if they're still that cheap, at most hydro stores and they'll last you a long time in an A/G. It's complete and all you need is a gallon of good water, a set of measuring spoons and something to check and adjust pH with. I hope that helped. Hank

and thanks for bringing up root rot bobba g as it is interesting you bring that up as i was just thinking when i went to check on them now about something i read about warm water causing root rot? and if this is true how do i keep my water cool?
and also while im asking questions i have read on here about lots of people adding bubblers into their systems is this something i need to add? does anyone grow with out one?

and also unless i am doing something wrong this so-far seems to just be a sit back and watch it grow kinda operation just cant wait till my trips to the dispensary can stop...

you had many grows cheffin? if so would love some info on them, i cant wait to see how this run goes then have a propper go at it!

Im only on my 2nd grow right now. 1st time I used an AG3. Didnt get the BIGGEST harvest but it did produce some nice, dense, potent nugs. After using/learning with the AG3 I decided to upgrade to the AG EXTRA. Ive added an airpump and airstone to the AG. Also added a 42w cfl in a clamp light and some reflective material. I only grew 1 plant in the AG3 and got 8g dried. It was nice, but I smoke waaaayy too much to be growing 8g per harvest, hence the upgrade.
Everytime is a learning experience.
I have posted pics on here of my last grow and harvest. Im sure they can be found if you'd like to see.

yeah thanks would love to see it 8g's doesnt sound bad for one small plant and wouldn't moan to much if i got that at my first try but yes i agree i think i would like a bit more than that to tide me over... i was thinking 15-20g's from 2 plants so i would probably be aiming for the same sort of yeild as you maybe on my next grow try 3-4 plants but i think it could get quite squished in there with more than 2 plants...
i have been doing a little bit of reading on here and its crazy what some people are claiming about these... like 2 months and an ounce per plant with 6-7 plants... there is no way you could get 6-7 plants in here let alone get an ounce per plant... but on a serious note i read aeroponics are quicker than soil but does anyone really notice a differnce in how long it takes to crop?
i noticed hsa said 3-4 months how long did it take you cheifin?

1st grow I cropped early (i was anxious) and it was about 3 months in. Last grow I started 12/12 from seed and did the same this time.

After it dried and cured it was 8g. 1 plant in an AG3. I LSTd 3 times to keep it under the 1 ft height allowance and started 12/12 from seed, added a bigger airstone and extra light, used XNUTRIENTS and checked PH frequently.
Nice, dense, potent nugs though. I enjoyed it. 3 mnths to grow something thats smoked in 2-3 days though. Im hoping for a bigger yield with this AG EXTRA.

they look pretty good would be happy with that for my first go that main bud looks pretty tasty! what strain is it? or just bag seed?
well good luck in your next ag grow how far in are you? i am (just worked out the time and its less than i expected) 2weeks 3 days from seed with about 2-3 inches in hight on the bigger one and an inch and a half on the other smaller one...
not added any nutes yet what stage did you start adding nutes? i imagine its quicker than in soil as they cant get any from the soil?

I start nutes about 1 week in.
Strain was GIRL SCOUT COOKIES. I had a delivery service bring it and got 1 single seed out of a 3g nug.

Heres pics of new grow going. Just about 6 weeks from seed, not sure of strain, Had a bag seed from something I liked in a jar and put it in the AG. It looks INDICA to me.

that is looking good! big old leaves is that girl scout cookies aswell? i will try to get pics of mine some time...
what lighting schedules do you do?

Thanks. No its not GSC. Got a bagseed from something I liked (dont remeber exact name).
Lighting schedule is 12/12 from seed, its what i did last time with some success so Im trying it this time as well. Lights on about 8:45am and off at 8:45pm.

ok found some pics there was a little problem with heat at the begging and had some roots severed due to moving of holes but its what almost 3 weeks from when the seed was put in the machine still looking a little small i reckon not sure why?
did start nutes 4 days ago now but not to strong... i must admit not allot of tlc has been given to these babies other than a timer switch i tend just to pop my head in every now and then to make sure they are still going...
also is it important i get an air pump?

Yea. It looks pretty stressed to me man. Im no pro, not even a little bit, but it seems droopy. Maybe the heat? Whats the temp in room? You have a fan going?
I dont know how "mandatory" an airstone/pump is but I noticed after I added 1 to this she loved it.
