Jumping in here maybe a bit late but if you have still in AK there is a domed scenic train that runs from Anchorage to Denali and is an about a four hour ride one way with spectacular scenery and you can concentrate on looking rather than driving. I highly recommend. You can probably stay in Denali (glitter gulch) overnight and do a bus tour into the park while you’re there.I know I arrived in Alaska at midnight. Like most people flying here. Next day I was blown away from Anchorage. Chugach Mountains right there covered in snow. Frigging moose everywhere in the city. It was April before the clouds cleared enough that I saw Denali from the old Glenn Highway between Eagle River and Butte. Incredible place.
