So I have some old BRF cakes, they were inoculated on 12/20/2018. They haven't changed color, still white. I forgot about them lol.

Gonna dunk them and see if they will make mushrooms.

P.S. I know about bulk tech. I am only growing these in small amounts in the easiest way I can because I just want some personal stash.

The variety is Buzzed Aldrin.

Wish me luck.

Mixing them into cococoir doesnt really increase the yield but it does make the moisture more constant and grow them better imo. Then cut them down with a long knife or sissors leaving 1/8 inch so the substrate stay intact for future flushes, nothing is lost but your mushies are clean.

I build some pretty neat mushroom growing boxes, once cakes are birthed all I have to do is pick the mushrooms, no need to be around exchanging air or misting. I have used them lots of times and they work great. I used a fogger and a tiny fan, float valve to my RO filter to build the fogger box, it's connected to the mushroom box with some PVC. Inkbird humidity controller kicks it on and off and it just blows the mist into the mushroom box. All electricity down there is low voltage DC so no worries.

Sorry about the pink light, I just stuck one of those cheapo LED bulbs in the closet with them. I have heard light is and isnt a pinning trigger so I just have it in there... lol

Yeah I dunked them for 12 hours. After four days of sitting in the chamber to pin they started oozing some brownish juice out onto the foil pads ewww...
