I'm a fit old dude with a shaved head. Everybody makes me as a cop. I'm close to getting my medical card. After that I'll be a bit more brave."I had the light on for maybe two minutes and even after it was off for say, five minutes, it was hotter than a twenty dollar pistol."
You're in deep, brah, but you'll figure it out. Those seedlings would be crushed by your new light. Keep it safely distant.
Small, or what you believe to be undersized plants shouldn't worry you. Ambient temps are a factor. You changed that with your new light. Soil temp is a factor. I use a seedling mat under smart pots when it's below 60oF in the grow, and notice a big improvement when doing so. It's warming up, so I'll be turning that off.
No weed in NE? You're nowhere near Boston, that's for f'ing sure. Stay the course. Your harvest will come. And you'll have a sack of wicked good weed by summer's end.
lolI live way out in the country and I'm old and half crazy. Another bad smell associated with me won't surprise anyone.
Everybody needs a healthy hobby. I used to collect toenail clippings. Now I'll collect electrical bills.
Now all I can picture is Mike from Breaking Bad lol... anyway you need one of these next https://hydrofarm.com/p/RP8ACI'm a fit old dude with a shaved head. Everybody makes me as a cop. I'm close to getting my medical card. After that I'll be a bit more brave.
Do a search here on rIU for 'MrE.Duck's journal' the guy pulled a half pound out of a teeeeeeny tiny cabinet. You might want to find a solution for the temperature before you start using the bulb, i had a similar problem when i tried out my hps because I'm growing in a closet the temps go way high super fast, someone else told me to look into cool tubes so I managed to knock together one of them and hopefully that'll sort it although I haven't really fully tested it yet
Yup, a decent cooled hood is worth its weight in gold eh!Both of my 600's are in cool tubes. One day the power went out and I forgot to re-set the timer for the fan that blows through the tubes. I went about a week struggling with temps above 90 before I figured it out. My poor A/C was working over time trying to keep it cool.
It's nice to have the card! I still keep it under wraps with my neighbors though..
LOL... if you go cooled check out the Raptor hoods I linked above. Cool tubes are great in tents and small spaces, but in a decent size room with some floor space to play with a Raptor or two are a great investment. Six inch for 600w, 8inch for 1000's. I did many runs before I had cooled reflectors though. You say you have some decent room, do you have climate control? And what kind of outdoor temps do you expect? Depending on room size and climate in your area, you might need either A/C OR cooled hoods, or neither, or both. What you WILL need is good venting. With a cooled hood you vent most of your heat straight out, you also use this as your ventilation outlet so it does two jobs at once. Give us soe details and we can advise you accuratelyShit ! Now I need a cool tube.
