OK... First you have to bear with me a little bit. My last grow years were 1983,1984 and 1985. Great seasons of gardening in very small patches where the soil was so sweet you could stick your hand in up to the elbow without the use of a tool. The seeds came from the Super Sativa Seed Club and my journal indicates they were Skunk#1, ML, Swazi, and a "hash" variety. My only knowledge came from High Times and a tiny little paper back on growing your own.
Now some 25 years later I find myself in a world of 100's of available varieties and things called feminized and auto flowering. Even though I have underwear older than many of you I seek your counsel. Next season I will be growing in 5 gallon buckets so I don't expect any ten foot monsters. The soil will end up being my own well aged compost with seaweed and lobster shells and is as soft and healthy as can be.
So my question is simply this..... If you had to plant in buckets where the sunlight is less than full what strains would you use. I need a short season plant but don't think I want as small of yield as say Lowryder. I need a plant that will do well in a bucket but provide a fair yield of sumpin sweet. Are feminized seeds worth the extra$$$. I won't have an opportunity to sex them and will be lucky to give them a decent start inside.( Kids and stuff ) I hoping to get 10 or 15 buckets out there and maybe a handful of ten gallon nursery pots.
Hook an old guy up and pick your brains guys. It's a new world from when I last nurtured any babies so throw out some ideas so I can check them out. I'm thinking 3 different varieties of five seeds each.
Thanks............
