What about good ol' 3000K min 90CRI which seems to be plenty efficient in CXB3590?

630nm peak
48% red (14% of which is 700+nm)
36% green
16% blue
efficiency basically the same as 3500K/80CRI CD.

So sitting on the sidelines, what I’m taking from this is the CXB3590 3K in 90CRI comes as close to matching the McCree curve for a single chip as anything out there. So if you were starting a new build (for flowering coverage) to use from seed-to-weed, what kind of DLI would you be shooting for? I mean from your experience the “sweet spot”…to be productive but not wasteful.

*EDIT: Let me put it a different way. How many PAR watts/foot would you suggest?

COBs are dead to me ;). CSP LED arrays nowadays kiddies. Actually they probably aren't ready just yet, Samsung hit 130lm/watts a few months ago and CSP based array's efficacy increases and releases are much faster than COBs. Ultimately, according to the so-called experts, they are supposed to be more efficient than COBs though CREE fucking hates them and who knows what CREE has coming out from that lab of theirs, though I think it's tick-tock time for COBs....... any second now.

Brother Fran I really like Chip Scale Package LEDs myself ,too ...

Although I do have some second thoughts about 'em ..have to admit that ..

One of them is the small sized LEs as you 've mentioned already .
From my point of view I do not actually see it as an " advantage " ..
On the contrary .LES plays an important role as a ...hm.. Heat Convecting Surface ..
A large LES -especially in a 300W CSP / COB - convects a quite good amount of heat generated ...
Basically ..That it's ...
Other than that ,it seems that some CSPs are offering ,the so wanted by me at least, " diversity "
in light quality ...

Question : Any links for the CSP LED shown at your latter pic ?
Seems like a combo of 630 nm Red ,4000/ 5000 K and 2700 K ,or am I so mistaken ?

Just copped a couple in the 36v light-pink option and am going to throw them in series with 2 cxb3070 6000k @ 1400mA. I haven't seen anyone using Citizens here, but the new vivid series is color adjusted further, so I figure go with 1:3 ratio with a zero phosphor COB to correct the spectrum with enough red to open up your stomates and then mostly high efficiency blue to hammer in photons. Just throwing it out there. I got cdiweb to bring in an order of the pink ones and they're still available now if anyone wants to give them a shot. $16.50 shipped I payed for them per chip, I think it's worth taking the piss.

CREE doesn't like them because it adds an extra step or 2 to their end of production, and that's what they've been saying about them since day 1. I don't like CSP because they are not as easy to DIY them at this time but we'll see. And what CSP stuff do they/did they offer through retail????

the term refers to the type of chip, what your showing here is arrays of CSP, Cree XQE for example is a CSP
