Sorry, Olive "Oil", not Olive Oli.....oops...
Anyone else doing as I here?
I love to take my left over ABV and do a little double broiler set up to extract the plentiful goodness that still resides within the ABV
I pour enough olive oil over the abv to just cover it. You don't want more than needed as the potency of the finished product will be less if there is more oil.
You'll want to place something in the bottom of the pot to prevent the direct heat from overheating the glass jar and the oil within....I take a long sheet of aluminum foil and fold it over several times and then place it into the bottom of the pot and place my glass jar directly over that...
If using a mason jar, make sure your lid and band are on just LOOSE or pressure will build within and who knows what a mess you'll make...or what burns you'll get !!!!!!!
Add water and bring to a soft boil and let it run for 1~2 hours....longer the better in my opinion.
The key to a double broiler technique is that the boiling water prevents the oil within the glass jar from over heating...this protects the oil by not allowing it to get too HOT and cook off the goodness were after.....We want the goodness to be preserved and transferred into the olive oil.
After boiling, you'll want to strain the plant matter from the oil. I use a metal coffee filter and press the greens down into one corner with the back side of a spoon...I do this to try to get as much of the oil out of the material as possible.
You can place the finished oil into medical syringes for super easy dosages but be sure to cap the end or you'll have a mess in you purse!
I have gave a 2.0 ml sample of this oil to a friend with a very low tolerance,....he thought he was going to have to go to the hospital!
