Better late than never
I encountered this with one of my plants in my current grow. Only my 3rd grow ever and already hitting the odd things like 1-3 leaf stems and something called Spring Tails flipping around in my coco noir. I'm testing the plant limits so I know what little I have to do to get a good harvest.
1-3 leaves appearing which are smoother than regular leaves of 5 with an opposing curled leaf which I thought looked like a typical snail fossil, was caused by stress of going from flowering for 3 weeks on a 12/12 cycle and then taking this 1 plant and tossing it outside to grow where it's currently at 15hr days putting it back to veg. They had small buds forming which I clipped at the time I placed it outside in the hot sun when it was there, and mild cloudy days when it was not. I just noticed the other day I had all these single leaf branches which made me laugh. I saw the snail like leaves all curled and cut them off. I'm sure it would be fine to have "leafed" them there, but it was cosmetic and an example of my laziness I wanted to hide. I want to compare an outdoor grow under natural light and unfortunately/fortunately it's 15hr days right now. It's nice and bushy and I'll lave to LST it for privacy reasons soon. The only thing I really think this has done is reduced the number of food generators for the plant, but it has more than enough IMO as seen in the photo. The bright orange is my goofy flower/veg soon back to flower plant. The darker orange is my 250W HPS 4 plant grow. No idea how many weeks it's all been growing as I stopped tracking this and eyeball it. Started flushing so in about 10 days I'm going to start planning to harvest. Not sure, but I think I'm close to 250g off these 4 plants under a 250W HPS. Waiting for some of them to get a bit more dense, but I think I'm close to the 1W=1g ideal.
