Speaking of mild.... this is an elnino year.... did anyone notice a difference growing outdoors?
Im in upper lower MI we didnt have any acorns this yr! The last 3 yrs we had so many it was dangerious walking around the yard lol...

In mid dec I was in my shorts barbqing steaks and salmon and the next day I was shoveling 6" of snow, that is michigan weather for you, since it started snowing it hasnt stopped we get at least 1" or more every stinking day!

I cant leave though winters suck but summers are the best!

I dont know, I have like 20 big oak trees in my yard, all fall they fall off the trees and bang on my camper, my pontoon hard top, snow mobile trailer cover, bang, bang, bang, walk around the yard getting hit on the head all fall, do the leaves and thousands of acorns, turkeys and deer in my yard every day,,,,,not this yr, I have only seen a few oak trees in my area with acorns on them or the ground near them,,,,,,I didnt get black walnuts this yr either! the squirls make a mess all over my deck with the walnut shells, not this yr, as a rule when there are a ton of acorns it is going to be a cold winter,,,,,we have had a cold winter so far here, we have had snow since the day after my barbq in shorts and Im sure it will be here until some time in the end of march, but who knows I could be fishing on the dock next week in shorts again!

I grew up with apple and pear trees, apples tend to have big harvests every other yr but always had enough fruit on them,,,,,pears we only ever got every other yr, not sure if it is the type of apple or pear's but I know growing up that is how it always was, and my pa always told me that is how it works,,,,we groomed and sprayed all of our fruit trees! so we didnt just have the apple and pear, plum, cherrie trees we used them, we canned them, and our garden in a 1 acre yard in the suburbs was to die for lol! half of our property was garden the other were fruit tree's, grape vines, goose berrys < awsome jam.
