One tip as a recent greenhouse noob here. More CFM'S than you think. And be stingy on the watering later in the year. PM is rampant here. Too many cucumber farmers around to boot. LOL. Plant spacing and airflow. I love mine for all the issues I've learned and 2 ltr. sized buds.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm kind of in an odd position with this structure in its current form. I purposely did not seal it in hopes that it would not trap moisture or humidity, but the other side of that coin is that I can't force air through it easily to keep it cool. I may end out having to seal it up more and treat it more like a traditional greenhouse. I'd like to try and leave it as is for the full season though, and see how it does before I make any major changes. For the most part, we have dry summers here.

Ive got a few plants going outdoors just now. I’m at 54’ N so lots of light this time of year but short growing season.

Going for Super Lemon Haze, Strawberry Pie, Purple Punch, Malawi x NL auto and a Blackberry CBD. All at different ages ranging from a few days to 17 - in pots that is.

In the flower beds I planted a tangie magic back in mid March. We had frosts every night in April - new record in the UK. So that really stunted her but now days are low 70’s with night time lows of 45-50f

First pic is of purple punch which is 17 days old. I bring this one in at night under my 13w T5 kitchen lights lol

Thanks! We're heading for some hot ones, but only for a couple of days, then back to seasonal normal. My plants went from a pretty constant 80-83º under lights in the garage to cold nights and hot days, but they seem to be loving it so far.

Yours look to be off to a good start. Did you paint those airpots white or do they make them that way? It's a great idea, either way.

Have you ever seeded outdoor crop in fall? Ive got a few survivers and theyre getting big fast, sure they have auto in them. Came up early april. Survived a few frosts, are in pots.

I've never tried that, something interesting about it though. With the few times I've put autos out even just in early or mid-May, they stunted pretty badly, so I'm not sure what would happen if they sprouted outside in April.

I've thought about doing light dep every year, but doing it manually it is just too much of a commitment for me -- being home twice a day at the same times for 9 weeks during the summer... Last summer with covid travel called off would have been the summer to do it, but at the time I didn't know it.

Nice! These have been outdoors apart from the punch all their lives. I’ve often wondered if germinating them in cold conditions prepares them for colder conditions.
I’ve noticed they germinate for as long as the temp gets into the 60’s. Can be 35 at night but still germinate. Takes about 5-7 days to break the soil this way.

No the pots can be reversed so either black or white, the white really does help with all the angled sun we get,

Germ when it is warm. I have a couple natural surprises here. Survived a brutal spring without help beyond the lawn. Were severely stunted and came close to death. Still going. Photos on 5/15.

Yea I germinate indoors now. Much faster initial growth and zero chance of bug issues.

Some photos just popped today to put outside in July.

Drowned my beans on 4/20. Only second night being left outside. Auto is on the right. First feeding tonight and bigger pots soon. Then in ground after sexed or full pot. I grow decent variety of plants.

I always germinate indoors at this point, I find that a consistently warm environment gives them the strongest beginning.

It's their 3rd day outside, now fully hardened, and they survived their first test of fire -- temps got up to around 106º. Only one couldn't handle it and I had to move it out of the "hot-house" and into a shady area. This is what they looked like at the hottest part of the day, all slightly leaning into the sun, and it looks to me like they're handling it pretty well.

While I'm testing this new structure I think I'm going to grow most of them in pots. My preference is to put them all in the ground, but I might need more flexibility this year.

True that. If it’s yield you’re after best keep them indoors to start.

I grow indoors for yield and outdoors for fun. Too much chance of cloud and rain in Scotland to depend on a decent harvest outdoors.

Get lucky and you got 2 months of temps ranging 60-80+ which can produce well but get unlucky and it’s 50’s wet and cloudy lol Even in July

paint those buckets white if you're like me and dealing with searing sun and high temps. root zone will thank you for it.

Im a painter/drywall guy so i just used Kilz primer i had laying around...stuff is oil based and sticks to damn near anything. Itll chip off eventually, even spray paint will flake off eventually. I just wanted them white and i can re-apply anytime with a brush...spraypaint will have overspray that will fk up the plants.

The seedling sprouted on April 20th, so I called her my 4/20 gal....just using cheap MG soil with Maxi-Bloom nutes

It's relying on the sun, so we can call that a "interior balcony grow"... or something... lol. I'm consistently impressed with your indoor sunlight grows!

Is that FB's Jack? I've got a couple of those seeds, haven't popped them yet but looking forward to it.

I hate to admit this, but it's a Crap King Jack Herer from a previous plant that produced about 30 seeds

I used these seeds in the "fall auto solo cup challenge" and also for my winter sunshine grow, to which that one has also reproduced a few seeds.

I'm just growing for the fun of it, as I have enough jars of MJ to last me another year but I'm just addicted to growing

Ya, growers love to grow. Every season, indoors and out, at the end of the cycle I write "notes to self" about what to do and what not to do again, and every time one of the top three is "don't overcrowd", and then it comes time to choose strains for the next run and I want to grow them all. So instead of learning how much I can get from each plant, I just keep finding out how many I can pack into a space. Maybe next year I'll listen to myself... but I doubt it.

This thread has been a good read, with lots of good info. I'm going to try autos (gorilla glue) outdoors for the first time. Finishing photos in late Oct is real iffy at 6100 ft. Just took them out of solo cups and planted in the ground they spent a few to many days in the cups but they should recover.

Put a 6' privacy fence around a section of my deck then opened a hole in the deck. Keeps the HOA out of my hair.
