Opinion needed on grow kit - from Sydney Australia

Hi guys. I'm from Sydney, Australia. This is my first post

I've been looking to buy this soil kit from my local hydroponics store to start my 1st ever grow. (I've shopped around and these guys are the cheapest)

My question is, what else will I need to get things started? Obviously timers. Anything else?

You will want another fan to bring in fresh air, temperature /humidity meter, FORSURE a reliable ppm/ph meter or pen.
an oscillating fan will also help move the air around and prevent hot spots.

Ask the guy in the shop about autopots, there really good for growing in with a coco mix medium.

don't use coco, it take some learning curves and not what you want for your first crop. Try FFOF or another high quality soil. Use 100% organic fertilizer as it's harder to overfeed and burn the plants than with synthetic. Strain has a lot to do with the growers skill level. Some are not for the beginner and others are very hardy and easy to grow. I personally hate all autoflowers but it would be a good strain to learn on as they are basically on autopilot and hate to be feed heavy. They stay small and allows you to learn the plants processes.

I'm planning to get the best organic soil I can get from my local supplier (bunnings).

Excellent tip by tikitoker to use organic fertilizer. As from what I've read overfeeding is definitely a common issue faced by beginners.

Hi mate. After some experimentation I went with a mix of Osmocote Professional Premium and Yates with dynamic lifter and perlite. Don't buy cheap potting mix !! Love to know what you ended up using and how it goes.

I'd go with a forgiving medium like 75% perlite 25% vermi and use a simple nutes like
Dutch master gold one.
Just follow instructions, almost impossible to fuck up, just feed once a day.
No need for ph/ppm meter, cheap with effective results.
