Opinion on WW growth from seed needed...pls.

Ok I germed these seeds 3 weeks ago Friday just past. Today the plants are 3 weeks old from sprouts.

1 Gallon pots.

I am growing under a 4' Fluoro with 2x 6500K bulbs as close as possible to the tops.

Plants are in a rubbermaid tote with mylar every where, made a home made reflector as well. Excellent ventilation and a fan blowing over the tops til they just wiggle a bit. My temps are about 70-75F with 30-45% humidity.

Feeding with a 2-0-2 chelated 2 part growth solution similar to DNF.

I only water when the pots feel very light so it works out to be about 2 times a week.

I feed, feed , flush as my watering schedule.

My plants look very healthy, medium green and have 5 sets of true leaves but are only 4" tall and very bushy in appearance. They are starting to grow further leaves at the node points.

Next to no bugs at all, I have sticky strips all over the place and have only caught 3 small fruit flies or fungus gnats total.

Does this sound normal?

Everything I've read thus far tells me yes but I am nuerotic I guess. Some reading has told me that it could be down to the genetics of the strain I'm growing, White widow.

I am wondering if I should switch nutes to GH or something with a more agressive formula.

Idk man my 3 are groin under 5 cfl's and are 2 1/2" tall and are a week and a half old yours sound fine to me I'm not even usin fert. Yet. Of the 3 I got from my bag 1 is real bushy and the other two are more slim and tall I think its just genetics man don't worry you should be fine . Think happy thoughts

I have four, all in 1 gallon pots transplated from Solo's a couple weeks ago. They are in 1 Rubbermaid Tote lined with Mylar with a Mylar lined reflector over them. The 4' fluoro is running down the middle of the tote.

The 4' light has 2 T8 tubes in it...32W each@ 6500K.

I thought about adding another 4' T8 Fluoro to it.

Maybe it would be better if I put them all in line with the light having all 4 in a straight line instead of grouped up?

They are very healthy looking. No discoloration of any kind.

I am wondering if my nutes are strong enough. If i have enough light or if the temps are too low.

These are things that are running through my mind at present.

EDIT - I am growing in a soiless mix with 3rd extra perlite for drainage/airation. I pH my water after the nutes are added and test my run off as well. All within the proper ranges.

Ya in a strait line would be better I'm thinkin. Are the bulbs real close to the tops of your plants ? Like 2 inches away from the tops ? I'm pretty sure that's safe I've read all over the place that's alright ? Correct me if I'm wrong

Yeah, they aren't right on the bottom of the tote. I have shoe boxes underneath them with mylar over the boxes. So they are propped up if you know what I mean. I have some longer totes so I'll line one of them with mylar so they all be in a line inside a tote.

Yeah fluoros don't give off much heat at all so I've been keeping them pretty close.

I have been growing Dutch Passion's WW for over a year now. It can be tricky to grow. It is pretty needy. It took me a while to figure what it wanted. It wanted strong nutrients (once it go its legs) and a little cal-mag every week growing under HID lights. I am growing hempy style with 80/20 mix perlite/vermiculite. Good luck with those Widows.

I would definitely try to get more light.

I followed the Fox Farms feeding schedule pretty close with my Widows and they loved all of it. They also got Cal-Mag and some Kool Bloom powder. Frosty bitches I tell ya and nice smoke.

Remember with Nutrients...less is always more.

Yeah, the 4' T8's are $20 + bulbs so they are cheap to add another set. I'm going to flower under a HPS in a tent...just fyi. I'm vegging in a closet with the T8 hanging from the pole in the middle.

Yes, I think this weekend I am going to get some other nutes.

Either the 3 part GH flora or the 2 part Flora Nova series as well as their Floralicious Plus and Kool Bloom liquid for the flowering stage.

My plan is to grow mothers, clone them, flower a clone from each plant to determine sex...you know the rest of the story.

I keep debating between GH Flora, GH Flora Nova, Botanicare series and Fox Farm. There are so many nute companies out there it's almost intimidating. I don't want to make the wrong choice. Every day I spend hours pouring over all this info. Their seems to be equal amounts of praise and disdain for any nute company out there...it's challenging to separate truth from myth.

That's why I just grabbed a basic grow formula for now. They are giving off a great aroma. They are just bushy bastards.

Yeah, I hear ya and agree 100%. The problem lies in my camera which is my i phone and as we all know that leaves a signiture due to its GPS that's embedded which allows for the pin pointing of my location. Once I have an alternate source of taking photos I'll be uploading some. I fully agree though, a picture is worth a thousand words....am I up to a thousand yet? Pretty darn close lol.

@ Mac: I stared my nutes at 1/3 strength for the first 2 feedings then I went to half for 2 feedings and now I am at full strength nutes. No ill effects at all. I am babying them most likely. I don't want to kill them with love or nutes as it were.

I used the Flora Nova grow & bloom the first couple years I was growing and it was easy to use and gave me instant success. I can't speak for the others.

Hrm yes I was thinking of this since I am growing in soil. Did you find that the one part solutions gave adequite concentrations of micro nutrients? That is my concern, that if I use these my plants will be somehow deficient.

The GH website says to use the Flora Nova series with Floralicious plus and to add Koolbloom while flowering.

The downside is that it's apparently gunky, which isn't a problem for me since I'm growing in soil and not hydro.

Ok I have moved the plants so they are in a line under the fluoro tubes and have moved them closer. I measured them to be 2" from the tubes. The leaves are no longer relaxed but have their leaves pointed towards the light somewhat.

I imagine this is good, however I have seen plants suffering from heat stress doing the same thing so I'm not sure. They're only fluoros so I hope it's ok.

It is like mud straight out of the container. I had nothing but healthy plants and was not using any bloom supplements except for molasses.

I call that the plant praying position. It is like the fan leaves are praying to the light. I think you have it sorted out now.
