The foil ain't gonna help much my man. But, with cfl it can't hurt them at all either. How deep is your 'pot'?

Well to start the light will work but you will want more later in veg and flower. Instead of foil get a emergency space blanket thing. It's Mylar and will work 100% better and cost about the same as foil in the end.

So your plan is too put more soil on the top of what is in there now? Hmmm...you are gonna have root bound problems there IMHO. How many is that? I count 6. And also with that much light lumen, you are cutting yourself short, again JMHO. I say that because I think if you concentrate the light on fewer plants and in more medium, you will get a better yield.

Now, the good news is, it is not too late if you want to slim them down and still have a good chance of a nice crop. When they have developed root systems put them into 12/12 sex them and put the survivors back in veg. Get rid of the males in the balance.

You would be better off starting with solo cups and change/repot in steps. And take it from me trying to go bigger in the mid of a grow is a pain in the ass.

^^^ Dis Mon Speak Da True Mojo Mon! If you can gently without damaging the tiny roots put them in their own containers.

Just got a better look at the pics. You would give better light if you took the flor light and rotated 90 degrees. And placed your cfls around it.

thats why i have them in the big container im scared of damaging the roots i lost my best plant already from transplanting it and damaging the roots lucky for me it was a male. and this is my first grow so i have little experience so i want to play with the plants as little as possible and i appreciate all the advice.

What strain? Most can handle a few weeks in cups and if not handled just placed in new pot. And do that over and over. I have a buddy that dose that all the way to 15 gallon pots. Don't ask how or why I don't know lol.

at what height should the plants be when i switch to a 18/6 cycle and how tall should i let them get before entering a 12/12 cycle my grow room is about 5 feet tall

18/6 now. And if you can't get more light. I would say get them to 6-8 inch tall. LST and go 12/12. If you LST right plants shouldn't get bigger the 24". And maybe 8g each or more. But that's just going off what you have now.

so you woulnt suggest growing them to the height of the grow room. also what size should i start taking clones. and a problem im having is it is winter and im in my basement so if i turn on the fans it gets to cold so most of the time i have them off do you have any suggestions for heating? so i can keep the fans on all the time?

Sorry but with that much light if you are able to grow hem the height of the room it won't be worth the hassle. I still think you should put them into seperate containers and minimize the grow. Even if you damage a couple which hopefully will not happen, you can't (I hope) kill them all.
