Opinions on topping??

So I wanted to here some input into topping. Is it just for the purposes of controlling the height of the plant? Some say it produces more because of the doubled main colas....Give me some input please!!!! Thanks ahead of time

More main colas. Better because they get more light. Look at super cropping too.

i believe its really important to top sativas so you dont have this tall bean stalk. some strains branch out on there own but if they dont i feel its important to top.

Top one Fim another and leave one and see what happens. I have done all and personally prefer to just LST. Note that I believe I've read that floral hormones are disrupted when a plant is topped or fim'd resulting in atleast a month before it's back to the levels it was at before. Now I have topped two wks before switching the light to 12/12 without any issues Im aware of.

Topping increases the number of main nodes that will now become your colas, creating a more even canopy and thus a more consistent product. If you're not topping then you better be doing vertical lighting to maximize the vertical footprint of the plant. Vertical lighting with larger untopped plants trumps topped SOG or SCROG any day. Just sayin'.
