ordered some seeds...

Well today I recieved my order of seeds and was wondering what happened. The mail envelope was perfectly cut open one of its sides and when I checked the seeds, they were all squished and cracked. The seeds were inside a holiday card and had a piece of cardboard behind it for support. Do you think US customs opened the package and squished the seeds? The seeds weren't open, nor could you have seen them. I didn't recieve any mail from customs either. I salvaged like 3 seeds that are still semi cracked and put them in a cup of water to germinate. Do you think they will sprout?

If customs get it they don't stomp on them and then send them, they just take them and give you a letter to say why.

ah, that seems odd. Then how was my mail opened perfectly as if it were cut with a mail cutter and the seeds all squished? Unless the seedbank send the envelope like that which I doubt they did. It was from the UK Royal Air...

nah, your neighbor thought mum had sent some b-day money...

really that is weird -- oh and as far as customs, if you are actually curious then I recomend you
do some research. the advice you will see on the boards is likely regurgitated blah blah...

like jail house lawyers, every pot head thinks he knows what customs can and can't do etc. etc. -- find out for yourself

doh! i realized that last post might be taken as insulting to pot heads! and that of course would be unacceptable given the nature of this site.

i apologize.

my intention was to drive home the point that when seeking information about anything that might even remotely be associated with the law, it is best to speak with people who are familar with it....and as pot heads we are apt to say what experience has taught us, or what we have absorbed through casual conversation, not meaning any harm but not exactly doing much good...:roll:

Don't know if this is what happened, but the USPS uses machines to sort letters. It's possible that the letter went thru one of these machines and that might have both crushed the seeds and created enough pressure to split one of the sides - for example, take an envelope and put something in it so that when sealed it has like an air pocket. Now start at one end and apply pressure moving to the other end. If done fast enough it should force the other end to pop.

I've seen this reported here and elsewhere...I'd bet there is a logical explanation(like their automated equipment for sorting)...I really doubt that the PO or LEO would crush your seeds deliberately and then send them on...

Should get some from World Wide Marijuana Seeds, they take so much care to make sure you get your seeds how the breeder intended not only do they come in the original packaging but they come extremely well wrapped and stealthy too.
