Hello to any old friends on here, those I have yet to meet, and the rest of the growers. I haven't been on any forums in years, but stumbled across a great thread by Subcool today on RUI https://www.rollitup.org/t/oregon-diesel-the-perfect-pnw-plant.461591/
So figured I'd share what brought me in today. My breeder that I was getting my babies from, let my two month vegged babies go to someone else and I had to scramble this year last minute for babies. I went in with 8 inch clones June 17th ( I am still salty on this so it makes me wince when I say it) instead of 3ft mature plants on June 1st as planned. Oregon D (Blackberry x NYD) and Dairy Queen are two strains that I chose and have not grown, along with a few other strains I do have some experience with. I will try to stay on topic..Oregon Diesel .. I had just finished smoking some OD and was admiring the frosty buds, they had some reds and lavender sprinkles throughout the lime green sticky nugs. The smoke had more of the blackberry influence to me than the diesel. I had to try them out. In hind sight I should have known better than to put in too many of something I haven't grown before, but I filled a 1/3 of the garden with OD. They were the strongest looking babies I had and responded well to training. I was late and behind, so I need these girls to jump. No biggie, I have plenty of veg time right !? Well the OD has other plans and decided to start showing pubes July 1st. Well turns out, the guy I got the babies from didn't know there was some auto flower lineage in them and they are triggered at 17hrs of light ( right about the beginning of July). So now I am looking at some early-mid Sept. finishers this year.
If anyone has grown Oregon D outside, I would love to hear how they turned out you. My girls are 3-1/2 ft tall bushes now a couple weeks into flower. They only had a couple weeks of in ground veg time, so I am a little bummed. Having said that, they do look pretty and I am hoping they surprise me.
