Oregon drugged driving law vs medical users?

Hey all, didn't see any talk about this so a question for the group: How are oregon police officers testing for thc during drugged driving checks? I'm a paranoid sort so wouldn't be surprised if the counties that have banned MMJ dispensaries also start testing for thc during sobriety checkpoints. From my early experience working in the health industry cannabis use is detectable in urine for at least 7 days (and depending on frequency of use, I want to say up to a month). But that's for just a positive test, over hours the amount of thc in the blood drops. I've not seen where any limits are listed in my various searches, so does anyone know what the recommended wait time is between medicating and driving? Not how long after can handle driving, but how long after are you legally allowed to drive? Or for that matter, has anyone been tested for thc after being found to be a MMJ patient here in oregon?

dunno about Oregon, but they are crazy in my part of the world (Scandinavia) got a new test machine that can test for 7 different drugs in less then 5 minutes (you spit on a cotton stick) and if you get tested positive they take you in for a blood test, it can measure MJ at least a week back, if you smoke heavily/daily there will go up to 3-4 weeks before its out the system, the limit here is next to a 0 tolerance, you can even have more medicine (opium based) and pass the test (can't remember how much, buts its like 0,01 for MJ and 0,1 for stuff like pain killers, talk about using the traffic laws to hunt MJ users) if you get tested positive you get a fine on a months salary and loose your license for 3 years !!!

I've heard talk on the news about a breathalyzer-like test that police want to issue but it isn't accurate enough.

Now a days all they need is probable cause and anything that looks positive (doesn't need to be a perfect system) is enough reason for them to charge/ do further investigation.

Hmmmm, that's a bit worrying given that if we're convicted of driving under the influence of cannabis (at whatever amount they decide is too much) we are then ineligible for medical cannabis... Allow me to say, ugh.

I do now that the first thing they do ask for is if you have your medical marijuana card if you get pulled over

CO has a blood draw, at first they fought it, now their leglisation passed it. I believe there is a thc level they can tell if just used, or past use, but if you refuse, you lose your license, like some states do if you refuse breathalyzer test or blood test and they impound your car With it looking like OR is following CA lead with bans and upholding them, I'd error on the side of caution if it was me. JMHO Or invest in Clear Eyes o Rhoto stock and products,lol.

A lot of times they will try and get you to do alcohol sobriety stuff, like counting, finger tips, hold your leg up.....very few if any thc specific test protocol. I have driven in Oregon almost 20 years, usually stoned, never really worried about it, don't have a flashy car that causes attention, don't speed, carry all documents and keep them up to date. Never a citation or arrest and I am no perfect driver, maybe lucky..... but that's only 5%, being prepared is the rest. I also try and keep carry-on, locked up at the very least, if I take it somewheres or travelling.
I would recommend never smoking and driving for a litany of reasons. Pulling over and smoking, then resumption is the path I try and take, but don't recommend anything, to each their own a bit....

Most cops here are aware of cannabis, but 99% of the time, if you have your ducks in a row, they will let shit fly and if you have a card, it almost literally take being caught smoking while driving to get super busted. Obviously I am not a lawyer, but I have many friends and associates over the years including myself on OMMP and they all get the same advice.

just don't smoke in your car . or while driving .. sounds easy ..
