I also use the Jiffy organic vegetable mix. I got it on sale for $1.86 a bag. I filled up my truck, TWICE!!!! I now have a big stack of it in my garage!!! Dr. earth pot of gold is also a very good organic mix.
well, I don't use the vegetable mix version. I use the straight 100% organic soil without any kind of additives or premixed nutes. I don't like using premixed soils because you just never know how strong or how long those premixed nutes really actually last and stay in the soil.. plus the premixed nutrient soils.. those premixed nutrients are a BITCH to flush out. So, yeah I prefer to use the 100% organic 'Jiffy' soil without any additives or premixed nutrients.
I'll tell ya of another really good soil that I use.. which is called 'Sunshine'. It's 100% Organic Soil just like the 'Jiffy' brand. The only difference is between the two of them.. is that the 'Sunshine' brand is a little more thinner.. its not as thick as the 'Jiffy' brand. But yeah, either the 'Jiffy' or the 'Sunshine' brand organic soils are both great choices IMO. I've always used the Sunshine brand in the past.. never had one problem.
Never heard of the 'Dr. Earth' -pot of gold- brand. I may have to do some research on that one.. and see what its all about.
Here's a shot of the PKB (just took these 10 minutes ago. thought about just posting the ones from last weeks update, but she's really advanced since then) She's currently on day #4 of week #4 of actual flowering. The smell is by far, one of the most pungent and potent smelling strains I've grown. It's not THE most.. but '
one of the most..' potent and pungent smelling strains that I've grown. It IS, however..
the best smelling strain I've grown as of yet.. and I can't even count how many harvests I've hard over the 4 years.. but this is one of those strains that you just don't forget about.
I can see now the reasoning behind as to why the breeder only sent me 5 of those beans.. while the other 8 strains he gave me.. he gave anywhere between 8 to 15 seeds. I know what he did now.. the better strains, he gave me less seeds for.. while the mediocre strains that maybe aren't quite as good as the others.. with those he gave me more seeds.
Wow, if that's the case.. then I wonder how good this other strain I got is, because the guy only gave me 3 seeds of it. Maybe have to think about growing that one out next go around.. which will be this coming Fall season.. I plan on taking a slight break/vacation after this current grow. Granted I only grow 2 maybe 3 plants per grow.. 3 is max for me. I don't sell or really even smoke with anyone other than myself.. so there's really no need for a massive commercial type grow. Plus, this also helps keep unwanted attention at bay.
Alright, enough rambling.. I took a hit off the bowl first thing this morning.
That's why I'm talking so much. Good smoke too.. tastes great and the high creeps up on ya.
Enough enough enough! On with the pictures I want to share. Keep in mind, she's only just began week #4 of flowering.. and I think she's going to be a good solid 9 week flowering strain before she's fully ripe and ready.. so with that said, I think she looks fantastic considering how young she still is in the flowering stage. Here ya go:
Keep in mind also, that I do have some nute-burn - It's plain to see.. and I realize that. The reason I have nute-burn is because, as I mentioned before.. I bought and switched over to using 100% organics and I'm having to dial-in (get use to using) the new nutrients. Plus, I'm having to get acustom to how strong they are. Plus, it came with all kinds of organic additives and supplements as well.. so I'm having to get use to using those as well. So with that said.. I'd say I did a fair job. I know now that I should ease the plants into the nutrients though. What I mean by that is.. instead of starting the plant(s) off with the recommended dosage, I need to start them off with a more diluted mixture so that its not so potent.. and gradually work the dosage/strength up from there.
Anyhow, IMO? I think she's looking good so far. At least now I know what this strain is capable of and I know what it likes and doesn't like pretty much now.. so next go around won't be so tough.. because I'll kinda have a better idea of what and how much of what to give her.
peace.
P.S. - Once I do harvest her.. I'll be sure and come back and post the harvested product. She's going to be a frosty bitch! She already is actually.. and she's only in the beginning days of week #4 of flowering.. and, I'm letting her go a full 9 weeks before I harvest.. so she's got 5 more weeks to get even more frosty. So yeah, I'll be back with the harvested results for sure.
