Organic Cal-mag: coconut water.

If you have to use it every watering (if you use RO water) it definitely wouldn't be practical as far as cost unless you live somewhere coconuts are plentiful.Young coconut water has enzymes that plants love and is very beneficial. I alternate weekly with coconut water and aloe vera, plants love it.

Why not just buy the coconut water vs the coconut? A can of coconut water was 1 $ us at trader joes. A liter of gh cal mag is what? About 17 $. How much coconut water do you need per gallon of RO water?

When using coco juice, its better to use a fresh coconut, when you buy the stuff in bottles its not as good, 1 coconut serves 25 gallons of water. The enzymes in the coco liquid is what im after. If you use as foliar spray use it all up this stuff goes rotten real quick. I love the stuff for cloning. Whe. I want fo add cal mag I add Oyster shell and molasses, remember they are macro nutes so not your main ones, you dont need as much as npk.

My cloning solution, is2 tablespoons aloe vera filet, 1 teaspoon coconut liquid and 1 teaspoon kelp and 1 teaspoon alfalfa. I get really healthy looking ckones and they root in less than 14 days every time. I love organics and all the fun stuff you can do. Later yall

I know this thread is old, but coconut water is an excellent source of potassium as well, right?

Organic blackstrap molasses is probably your best bet for K. It is overpriced most of the time but if you can find it in bulk $3/LB.

I got grandma's unsulphured and it my plants definitely don't mind it except the little runt I have keeps getting k deficiency. Could be locked out because the weight of the pot overall is pretty dense and not really getting any lighter.. probably due to a tiny root system from a botched transplant. I dose molasses every water and sometimes give it a shot of coconut water. I also use tiny amount of blood meal and about a tablespoon bone meal both mixed in to the top layer before water. Lower leaves get brown spots (big and small) and then fall off. Still growing ok though I suppose, you be the judge. It's on about week 3-4 flowering 12/12 from seed.

I try to go as long as I can between feeding but it shows def if I wait too long and I know its still pretty saturated at the bottom. Drilled holes for drainage and aerated the soil a couple times but no luck.

What would be a rough coversion of coconut water to water be per gallon. I see above 1 coconut per 25 gal of RO water but coconuts come in different sizes with varying amounts of water.

Why are u flowering it so small?? U can do that?? An just grow a huge little tiny BUD? Like a pure bud plant? Unless u have a lot of plants and a steady influx of new clones, why wouldn't u let it veg out for another 30+ n then switch to flower? U will yield WAY more if u let her veg longer.. and all the nutrient deficiencies and over nuting would def be because of the lacking root system.. no other foliage to help spread out the concentrate.. u should water with just distilled and dial back yer nutes if yer getting burned.. If u have other clones, or clones ready to be cut let.them get 3-5 weeks older after transplant before flower

What coconut water gives you are Gibberellins - specifically G1 thru G8, Indole-acetic-acid (IAA), enzymes and Cytokinins. You would want to use this as a soil drench, not a foliar. I use freeze dried organic coconut powder at 1/4tsp per gallon. If you are using coconut water like a coco libre product, application rate is 2oz per gallon.

You don't need CalMg in organics.

I use 1 pint for every 1 1/4 gallons. Goes bad quickly [i.e. ferments] so use it quick, but haven't had any ill effects from fermenting either. I just shake it up and spray.

Calcium is a macronutrient, so you kind of do need it for any kind of growing and mag too, since watering will flush out Mag more than other soluble nutes. :peace:

cal/mag as a processed product isn't necessary for for Organic gardening in that regard.

From coot:

If you have Costco nearby they carry the Coco Libre Organic Coconut water for about $12.00 per gallon (4 x 1 liter bottles).

Application rate is again 2 oz. of coconut water to 1 gallon of water so you could get 68 gallons of coconut water tea for $12.00 - less than 18 cents per gallon

I can't imagine much benefit using coconut water as a foliar spray. The action you want to see from the specific enzymes take place in the soil and not on the leaves & branches. It's like applying Humic acid on your leaves - why? To what end? Coot
