Organic growing questions for first timer

I am a first time grower and I am growing two different plants right now one is a clone of blue dream and the other is a clone of pre 98 bubba. I have done a lot of reading on the different ways to grow and techniques. The one that stood out to me was organic because the fact it is cleaner and just no chemicals and what not. I am using home made compost that I make in a compost box I have. The compost was settled for over 5 months cuz there is a lot in the box so I am using that to grow my plants in. Right now my plants are on a 18/6 lighting schudle. What I am doing is a indoor grow but letting it get sunlight from the sun and it's been working pretty well so far because I live in California so the heat is well for it right now with the sun light it's getting and I make sure it gets well air flow because I read that it will help make the main stem stronger and sturdy for when it grows the flowers. I put some earth worms also in the soil for the plants because I read it will help break down the compost also that it is in and I wanted to know if that was smart to put them in there ? And what I'm wanting to know is do I need to feed my plant anything or just maintain it now and let the compost do all the work? Or do I still need to add certain things to help it here and there? And also I was wanting to know if someone can tell me if my plants are looking ok if I posted pictures?

okay friend, im reading about compost but no mention of what type soil your using, here is a little tip for you ,take a quart size mason jar add 2 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of calgon water softner ,then add 1 cup of the soil your using ,mix and shake the shit out of it,set it somewere it wont be disturbed for 24 hrs. after 24hrs look at the jar ,measure sand line which will be on the bottom ,next is the silt line measure,next will be compost ,it will float to top of jar. by looking and measuring each individual layer you will no were you stand ,weather it be to much or not enough of something.once you balance those out then you can look into what you want amend it with, from reading your thread you sound like you would like to water and tea only,i got 100% respect for anyone that does it, get that sample even from the jar test and then holler back at me and i will walk threw a soil ph test with you if needed ,i doubt you will need help though it is pretty simple ,buy one of the ph kits off ebay like 15 bucks. again soil level first ,ph and npk next, hope this help friend

But my plants are in rite now is home made compost from dry plants, fruits, recycle able paper, and earth worms etc that has been in a compost box for 4 months plus. I also added a very minimal amount of organic fertilizer I had here at my house so I wanna say it's like 95% compost and 5% fertilizer. So now what I'm wanting to know is with that do I need to feed it not only water but other things or not ? The water I'm using seems to be working out fine I let it dry out for about a day before use so any chlorine that's in it drys out. I always make sure when watering the water isn't to cold or to warm I keep it at a good room temp. I will need to look into this oh tester though! I want you to take a look at my plants and tell me if they are growing healthy any care tips etc please? Let me know what your answer and stuff is and I'll post pictures!

yea let me see the pics,as far as your medium ,its worth a try / i have never grown in straight compost but that is what makes this game intresting new method are discovered every day you might be onto something,i know people that grow in straight up cow shit and put out product,post pics and lets check them out and go from there

Also there has been no animal remains used in my compost at all!

they look damned happy to me,go with it.you are useing compost ,did you say you also put worms in it ,because if you did they will eventually eat the compost and head out of pot to find more ,they leave pretty much all the nitrogen that you need ,but you need more than nitrogen to get threw the grow,the soil looks pretty good have you by chance done a npk test to see were you are at on that,a cheap kit cost 15 bucks on ebay ,honestly that medium looks good and i think it will hold you threw veg and maybe bloom if you are feeding teas,they look good freiend

Well I have some worms I saw in my compost box! I put one worm a small one in the soil for this plant but that's it. I havent tested it at all yet. Gunna be brewing a compost tea this week when I water next to feed them so I hope that it will help give boost so it can grow some more. I am hoping that it works out well. Just wanted to make sure that they have no symptoms of anything cuz to me they looked ok just didn't know cuz this is first grow to where they have reached this point.

Thanks means a lot! So based off that I know my blue dream plant is doing very well. The leafs that were cut by the people who cloned it should I worry about those leaves effecting the plant ? Or giving any kinds of disease ?

I would say it is fine. I had some pumpkin seeds sprout in my compost pile this year. They look real healthy.

I had a buddy that over the years shoveled horse manure and saw dust out of his barn and tossed it in a ditch. It filled in after many years and broke down I to soil.

We used to roll back there and flick seeds out. He let a couple live. One was a sativa that hit 20 foot. Biggest plant I ever saw personally.

Holly shit that's crazy 20ft that's like some jack and the bean stalk type stuff! But I tested this compost out before I used it with some lettuce seeds and they where growing great so I knew it would be safe to use the compost and I even tried 70% coco cior and 30% compost with lettuce seeds and that ended up growing a bit faster actually than the compost it self but what I'm trying to consider now is since I live in Cali it's always sunny here so that's how the plants are getting their light right now my room has a window facing the sun it's always hitting the plants I'm keeping the air flow good in the room as well but I don't know if after they veg more I should transplant to soil in my yard or just keep the whole process indoors

Also I just found out I'm pretty much growing "veganic" style because I am not using any animal remains in my compost nor has there been any remains in my compost box so I'm hoping the way nature is working with that makes a great outcome that would be nice to see!

no dont worry about them leaves you will wind up cutting them off any way as it matures,roll with what you got friend

Ok thank you! Also what does it mean when there is slight yellowing on some parts of the leaves ?

most times it is just calmag issue,some plants are whores for it,at that stage mix about 1/2 tsp of epsom salt to a gallon of water next time you feed it give it some ,you arent feeding nute yet are you.when you feed it with the epsom you should see improvement in about 3 or 4 days

Ok cool and I got the salt already to! And no I haven't fed them nutes yet I am making compost tea right now actually for them and I was gunna feed them that!
