Organic Growing: When Is Too Soon To Start Feeding?

i am on my 4th grow. i have been having good luck so far. or, i won't call it luck, but the people around me seem to think so. anyways, i have been using Sunshine Mix Advanced #4 for my medium to start seeds in and switching them to Roots Organic about 2 weeks in, or when they reach the 5th set of leafs. i am undetermined on when to start feeding? i have always started to soon, or too late. i need to really get it correct this time. can i start at say, 25% or even 50% within the next week or so? maybe after the first transplant, which will be quite soon. thanks in advance.

i normally wait until a week after transplanting because the soil i am transplanting into will have nutes already added, then i just introduce nutes at 1ml per litre. i use bio nutes and soil at the min.

I usually wait until my established seedlings begin to yellow before I start them on a light feeding regimin... And that is usually when I transplant them for the first time in their life-cycle, from small peat-pots, to medium-sized containers, before they go to spend the remainder of their lives in 5-gallon buckets... I very gradually step up the strength of the teas and other organic nutes form there... Practice truely does make perfect, or at least near-perfect...

thats my issue. is the timing. and practice. the issue i usually have is the bottom leafs get rust colored, turn yellow, dry up and fall off. i don't think it is an issue of feeding too soon or too late though. it very may well be another issue. i dunno. all i know is 3rd crop, going on 4th. and id really like to nab it early this time. the growth never slows. i get decent growth results. but who knows, it could be faster... it is bugging me.

you can start feeding whenever you want as long as you have a good root structure and hearty plants just be careful when using roots cause it already has a lot of nutrients and you dont want to burn your plant...i did on accident once...but if you do feed just use about 25% or less at first

Perhaps u could try to just chang your whole approach up altogether, and go with the "less is more" approach... Ive had about twenty-someodd successful grows, with each successive one getting better and better each time, slowly gathering better equipment and tactics and tricks with every one, and sometimes you just haveta go back to the drawing board and re-stratigize... Mabye the seeds didnt respond well to the starter medium... Mabye you could have done this... or that... etc... The thing that has always seemed to help me the most when Ive had issues is to totally change my mediums, and/or soil mix recipes here and there...

that is my approach. and my grows also get better and better. in fact, if i went off what all my friends said, i wouldn't have to improve nothing. but im a perfectionist, and i personally think there is major room for improvement. i agree with your comment. i just see something odd with every one of my grows. i guess i may have another issue. i just chalked it up to not feeding soon enough and never getting caught up. maybe i have a totally different problem all together.
