Update:
The Blackberry is into it's fourth week. I came back from vacation and it was droopy as fuck. It needed a nice drink, so I gave it some de-chlorinated water (no nutes) to flush the soil of all the salts clogged up in the grow medium. Runoff PPM came out at around 570, so there are still plenty of nutrients in the medium until I feed it again (probably 2 days from now). I am still fairly suprised about how short she is, despite her bushiness. Here are some pictures from today:
When I came back, I saw the bottom two most leaves were yellowing and dying off where more new branching was starting. So I trimmed off those two leaves to allow more light to undergrowth.
Bagseed #1:
This is a couple days into its second week of life. This brown mold/mildew/something started to develop while I was gone. Whatever it is, was probably due to extremely high temperatures in the closet while I was gone. When I walked into my room for the first time back from vacation, the temperatures were hitting around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. This could possibly be heat stress? I just figured it would effect other leaves as well. What do you think?
Also, while I was away, I grabbed a couple things that I couldn't pass up due to their low price. I grabbed some Fox Farm Ocean Forest for future seeds, a liter/quart (not sure which) of Advanced Nutrients Nirvana (100% Organic) as well as some Botanicare Silica Blast (Not sure if it's organic or not, but I doubt it), a 2.5" air stone, 8 neoprene plugs, a 5 gallon bucket lid. The guy at the hydro store hooked it up! When I dropped around 70 bucks or so on all this, he threw in 4 issues of Rosebud magazine ($7 per issue value - high-res photos inside), a bag of myco spores, and an organic feeding pack (buried into the soil at transplant). Not only this, the guy talked me out of buying a more expensive product. After grabbing my Nirvana bottle, I walked past the Rhino Skin and decided to take a look and see what made this shit worth 35 dollars. Before I could even finish reading the ingredients, the shop owner said, "Silica Blast is the same thing and less than half the price." Silica blast came to 15 bucks, and he had no problems telling it like it is.
I'm about to start some more beans here soon. And by the way, still have yet to receive my package from Nirvana. I will be sending them an email tomorrow.
