Hey WeedNerds! I am in need of your help friends.
So im reading on ProgectCBD an article entitled "CBD as a treatment for Breast Cancer".
In it they talk about the effects of CBD and the combination of CBD and THC in preventing the spread of a gene called ID-1. This gene is sort of the "orchestra conductor", as far as cancers ability to spread from one place to another. So the less ID-1, the less cancer can spread and multiply.
So not only can they keep them from spreading, but that can actually "stimulate" the cancer cells into killing them selves.
Here is a bit from the article:
"There is a family of signaling proteins called mitoget activated kinases (MAPK). These proteins control cell growth and survival. Depending of how they function, they can either simulate cell growth, or if you stimulate them for too long in cancer cells, you can cause the cells to undergo programmed cell death, which is a desirable property in a cancer drug.
We found that when you add either compound at lower concentrations alone, you produce either no effect, or marginal effects on certain MAPK. But when you combine them, you get a pretty dramatic change the leads to increased cell death and reductions in proliferation."
Super amazing work. In the article it states also, that somewhere around a ratio of fourfold less CBD then THC , as when the they see a "synergism" in terms of its ability to induce cell death.
So... We have a target ratio of 4 to 1. So like 20% THC and 5% CBD, or 12% and 3% ah?
So amazing would it be to have a strain with this magic ratio... BUT one can make a concentrate of some sort with this ratio easier yes?
If you have a high CBD/low THC strain with say around 7% cbd, 10% THC, as a good number of these CBD rich strains are, you could just add to it a little more THC to the mix and work out a 4 to 1 ratio yes?
So my question is, how would the weed nerds make this 4 to 1 medicine?
Think you could work out a "smoke blend" as in "2.3 grams of Misty (ie - Harlequin or Cannatonic or whatever), plus 1.3 grams of Chernobyl ground and mixed together".
Or some sort of tincture, or even capcell? RSO?
Anyone interested, should read the article on ProjectCBD. Click on the science button at the top, then on the left under "key articles and documents".
Thank you to anyone who has any input.
