I transplant twice. Once into my 1 gal air pots from clones, and then next into my 10 gal smart pots.
At this point i dont think anyone could say one yields more then the other. I feel like they both have their place, and both yield way more then most other training techniques. I feel like mainlining deff has the advantage in growing single cola dom plants (aka most indicas). But for me, super brachy ladies (Vortex like growth), i like scrog. You can fill a screen a lot faster then if you were to try to mainline her. I can get 50-70 level heads in 30days veg in a screen, where mainlining would take twice that at least. Now thats not to say that they all stay level. You can see where Nugs equal distribution theory would come in handy at times in a scrog. But with that said, we're talking about a difference in height of less then 6". As long as they have a good open spot in the light, they come out just as dank imho.
I personally do a "pre-tent" training to my plants that i run. This happens when they are in their 1 gal airpots, in my small veg/clone/mothers T5 box. I train them straight up, pulling side growth but leaving the fans, to focus energy, until they are about 10" tall. then i get my 4 "mains", and top. I do this because by the time the 4 mains develop, its about 12" tall, which for one is where a plant becomes "mature" by Oregon OMMP law, but for two its a good height for the screen to be at from the soil, as far as working under the screen/clearance. This is when i put them in there tent for their 30days veg.
