Howdy fellow green thumbs! This is our first journal, figured we could use some constructive criticism on how we are doing! We are very excited. Ok, so we got this lovely, stocky lady from a good friend of ours...It's a BIG, tall, female *Hash* plant ready for flower.
The room:
Basic closet conversion for a 400w switchable Galaxy ballast w/ a Sunmaster HPS bulb...Thinkin of upgrading that w/ a better hps 3x4 with a sun light supply XXL 6in vent. hood.
Soil:
Fox Farms Ocean Forest Blend
Nutrients:
We have been using General Hydroponics Flora series as a 3 part system...We have slowly been phasing this out to go with Fox Farms Nutrients, as we were not getting the results we were hoping for with the G.H. brand. Our last grow using G.H. yielded bullshit results. This 3 part series might yield awesome results when using it for hydro, but in soil, we were honestly NOT impressed. Our crop was small, and definitely didn't pack the punch we were hoping for. The flavor was mediocre, the aroma was lacking after drying and curing, but the potency was relatively good. We had 2 different strains, neither of them a naturally occurring purple plant, neither plant were temp shocked, and both plants were as purple as purple could be. We found this sort of odd and off-putting, but i mainly chalk it up to the fact that the Micro in the G.H. series is purple, and contains beet extracts if I'm not mistaken. Since our last grow, we have picked up a bottle of Big Bud to try out on this crop, Trinity for root health and extra boost, and Tiger Bloom, as this plant is ready for flower, we have not picked up any of the Fox Farms Grow Big as of yet. We have read excellent reviews of the Fox Farms products, and are super stoked to see how this crop does. If anyone has any words of wisdom they would like to share on their experiences with the Fox Farms, or the General Hydroponics please drop us a line We are also considering adding some extra guano to this grow.
So on this plant, this is what we are using:
Fox Farms Tiger Bloom
Advanced Nutrients Big Bud
Aurora Innovations Trinity
The Lady:
I'm not sure exactly how long she was in veg, but she's massive!!! I have read that the normal height for Hash plant is like 3-4ft w/ little to almost no growth during flower. She is supposed have a really short flower time of 40-45 days. She's been under the light for 3 days now w/ a fresh water top off before feeding last night w/ new juice!! Tied her up a bit to open her up for better light exposure in a 17 gal. bucket container!! We'll post pics later when it's daylight!!
