Hi doublejj, Just caught your post, and tried to send you a PM...box full. Then the wife yelled !dinner! which takes precedence over most things. Your advice/comments in high demand and your time a little short? Familiar story. I've been out all day fixing up a camper for a friend whos' chemo/radiation treatments end later this week. Kind of a group project, trying to have it ready as soon as he's feeling up to it. At least to have it sitting there, staring him in the face.

I'm down for a usage trade, not necessary, but if you're willing to provide the necessary education to operate what looks to be a complex chunk of machinery.(I'll pass on the beer, replace it with a tall iced tea and I'm all over it) I guess you'd have to understand that though I've been a 'consumer' for years(and years and years and years)I am a total noob to the growing/processing end of this. Fortunately, the trimmer only requires one instruction....!keep your fingers out!

I am legal and all if it makes a diff.......and I am nor-cal, close to sac on the foothill side.

And thanx for the comp. on the girls, I thought they were monsters, then I see a carport on stilts that can barely contain yours.......PLEASE!!! One of the dogs got tangled in the strings and broke 2 branches over the weekend, made repairs and added support, hope they make it, but no big if they don't. My stuff is for me alone, for the most part, and I think I'll have plenty. The saying is right though, the bigger the plant, the bigger the anxiety, I'm just about ready to set up the hammock in the patch, even with 3 dogs that'd never let someone unaccompanied into the yard. Hell, as it is, there's only five people total, me and the wife included, brave enough to face them without a gate or fence between.

Thanx, and have a great evening!

DT, it's as hard as doing a load of laundry!

We'll work something out, thanks.

Peace

That's funny, last time I did a load of laundry was....well, about the last time the wife did an oil change on the car! As long as it doesnt require sorting colors, or else everything would most likely come out pink.

I drug her in to see the house on stilts, and the washing machine......of course her first words were !not in MY washer!

Cool deal, we'll be in touch.

I made the mistake of taking a walk around the block the other day, just to see what I could see, and guess, do guess what I could see, over the fence, and by the tree, a bunch of little green branch tips, staring back at me.

The trainwrecks, topped, and tied down, are still reaching over the top of the 8' chain link fence, so off to the depot it was for a piece of shade cloth to mask the view from the street. Hopefully in a few weeks the added wieght will drop them below so the shade, as little as it affects the amount of light they get, can come off. They just need to sag the tiniest little bit. The shade only block the earliest morning sun, by 10 they had full light again.

The platinum Kush is nuggin' up nice, must have 30 or so colas on her, and very little small stuff. I wish I had started with more like her. To be sure, I'll be hitting up that source for clones next year. She's only 40" or so tall, from soil level, but what a producer for her size, and I have done zero manicuring or topping of this one. The wife wants me to decorate it like a little Xmas tree, she thinks it is the cutest thing. All small, and burly. Should be ready to whack around mid-September, right about the time last year's supply runs dry.

Everyones in flower now, and the issue I had when I started this thread has now reversed itself. I was having to tie them down, now I'm tying them.....UP!!

On the advice of veggiegardener (who is quite generous with the sharing of his experience) I conducted a test, I tied them up until I thought I'd achieved overkill, then I made it rain for them, and took care of some stragglers that I missed on the first run. Now I'm fairly confident I'll make it thru the season without further breakage. Last year we had a late summer storm, that had it not awakened me, would have been disatrous. Remembering that, I asked VG the question, and he was happy to suggest some solutions.

Great guy, among others. I've tried, but can't seem to figure out the +rep thing, could someone please guide me(digital dumbthumb)thru the process? The FAQ section said there was a 'reputation' icon, but I cannot seem to find it.

Some photos attached. I kind of figured out that to achieve some sense of depth of field in the close up photos, I need to back off, zoom in, and leave the flash on. Brings out some detail without the flash washing it out quite so much.

Thanx for looking!

Had the very same bump in the road when I was growing last year. Was tieing branches down for more light penetration. Once flowering really set in, I woke up to a plant that was laying flat on the grow floor. It was pretty funny thinking about how I felt and reacted, Then after I realized nothing was wrong with the plant and it was fine. I was tying up branches from there on in though. I had really wished that I stalked the thing before it got to big and filled up its pot, I was tying it all over the place just to keep it balanced.

Your grow looks like its going to ride out the year and end with a bang.... or bong. Keep up the good work.

They done gone topped the fence with bud's a poppin, so now someone's home @ all times, along with the 3 dogs, and all the security measures as well.

The adage is true..."THE BIGGER THE PLANT(S), THE BIGGER THE PARANOIA!"

The little platinum og kush is making all colas, no small stuff. The purple diesel is a little behind that, but is becoming crowded with budsites, and is stretching like crazy. The NY sour diesel is the runt of the family, further behind still, and as it buds out, all of the old big leaves have yellowed, withered and died, but the new growth is green, lush, and abundant. Poor thing looks a bit naked down below. I think the leaf dying thing must be plant genetics, as the purple diesel did it to a much lesser extent.

veggiegardener was right, as the t/w's bud, their thirst for water diminishes. Still I'll put down 25 gallons for 5 plants, just every 4th day, of late. Used to be evry third. With the heat expected over the next couple days, I will water tomorrow, the 3rd, rather than waiting. Supposed to a furnace here tomorrow as well, so I'm sure they'll be happy to be hydrated.

The Jack's Classic Bloom fert is working wonderfully, though I'm going thru a ton of it. I had to order more. The barrels demand water more often than the patch, so I switched to 2 waters, then 1 feed on them. On the in ground patch it's every other water is the feed. All feeds are still at 1/2 strength. I also add a 1/2 dose of cal-mag every other feeding. A lot to remember, so I made a color-coded popsicle stick system that I hang on or near each to indicate what stage each is at.

All for now....will post pics later. All the best, to everyone!

need to get my lazy butt out there for some fresh photos, spending all the time now fighting 'pillar's.

great advice got be on the BT bus....so far....so good, another application in the morning if it doesn't look like rain.

everybody is rockin', the kush is almost done, and the others shortly therafter. diesels are wierd strains, leaf shedding since they started budding, but the new growth is fine and dandy. The frosting fairy has visited everyone. I come in and try to get my wife to smell my fingers!

I have buds growing through the 1/2" hardware cloth that lines the top 4' of the fence, sticking up prolly 8 inches or so. The trainwrecks have gone straight crazy. LST'ed like crazy, the one on the ends have main stems like baseball bats, running almost parallel to the ground. They seem to love the Jack's Classic, alternating with molasses water for two weeks now. I still ph evry drop of h2o they get, even if I spray it.

Paranoia has set in....locks, alarms, camera and the garden dog are all in effect. The dog has become known as 'Farmer Patty', thinks the patch is hers, will scrabble @ the gate if I'm in there alone. Last week I had to get in behind them to do some tying, and she freaked out, seeing the bushes move, but not seeing me. A good sign for her tendency to protect the girls. What is she gonna do when I whack one?

That's an awesome grow. Very inspiring. I have one TW right now it's in a ten gallon bucket and about 5ft. It's getting so thick that last night it rained and they were almost falling over. I made a little cover over her so she wouldn't get rained as bad, because the forecast calls for rain all weekend. Very happy first grow ever and it wont be the last.

Great job! Really enjoyed this thread. Your plants are huge yet very healthy. It was smart of you to look at the plants from another perspective when you saw the tops of the plants over the 8' fence.

You sound diligent in watching over and protecting them; I'm sure you're gonna have some nice and huge fluffy buds in no time.

I had a question about those blue plastic barrels you're using. Where do you find those kind of barrels? I see a lot of people using them, and they look like they'd work a lot better than the 5-gallon buckets I used this year (see sig). I had decent success, but I like the idea of growing bigger plants in barrels like those, next year.

Subbed and looking forward to harvest for ya!
