Outdoor Arizona Bud

ive been growing these buds since Dec 1 and now they are three weeks in flowering and Arizona's desert high sun intensity is the best

I know someone that lives around Scottsdale, isn't it too hot in Arizona to grow outdoors? He has been curious and wanted to grow outdoors. How did you do it?

i started them in december its a winter crop because here in Arizona in winter it is like in the 60's and 70's and it grew nice even of the dry air but i think the dry air is better because now the buds are covered in crystals and 6 weeks in ill put updates as soon as i can

It's all about growing in northern AZ. I had a friend who grew stuff just outside Show Low and it was pretty damn good.

i grow every summer in arizona. just have shade in the afternoon.and a gallon of water a day per plant

Knowhere in america is too warm for mj.

Outdoor growing starting in Feb ending in Oct, plant in the hottest part of the place you want to grow, a place that will get the most sun light. start with germannated seeds. when they get couple feet high pick off some of the bigger leaves ant the base of the stem, what will happen is two leaves will grow out for more buds. when they get 4 1/2 feet high cut the tops off and keep pulling leaves off now and then. leaves will grow back but will be smaller and smaller so at the end it will be all bud. in the middle of the summer it wil be starting to get good. water in the morning and at night.
weeds love heat and water. pull any males when you figure out which ones are which, they will not be as brushey as the females. by end of july you will have some good leaves to feed on. by sept and oct you will see the white hairs getting thicker and thicker. twice we did this from feb to oct or into nov. depending how cold it gets, you will have killer stuff. during the middle of the summer the leaves will dip after a whole day in the sun but then you flood it and pop right up. by picking the leaves off you get a pine cone effect of buds just solid bud. it works i've done it. don't forget to feed them plant food also. you can even leave some planted and just cut most of the buds off , the plant will start to get culely leaves (wierd) but once it starts to warm up it starts to grow and is even better then last yrs.

if i mess with the lighting i can get it to flower
and since it doesnt get too cold in the winter i can just cover it wwith a sheet to keep it from freezing.

any strains to stay away from for AZ outdoor growing? what strains have been successful?

lets just say i live near pheonix az i am a 4th time grower trying to keep these nice bagseeds on a low stature 2nd wk of flowering what do you think

I actually live in scottsdale . My outdoor is alway good throughout the summer. no prob. just have to water morning and evening. Ive done many donkey dicks all in a little area. but they were amazing

They grow mad sativa's in afghanistan which gets 120-140 degrees so I am sure you can do the same in AZ where water is much easier to get..no camels needed to pack in water ha ha...


so would water crystals and wood in the soil mix help to retain more water so that you dont have to worry about whether or not your soil will dry out ?

What i do is dig a hole in the ..really hard arizona dirt. i get a big bag of FFOF and mix it with a couple of bricks of coco coir. it really helps to retain moisture. But the silica sounds like a good idea too. Im guna have to try it out sometime. I was also wondering if its possible to do a winter grow here in Arizona. In the metropolitan phoenix area???

which would work better plating in a hole in the ground or huge pot in the ground ?

the hole in the ground would allow the plant to look for moisture but also would allow the water to soak in a bigger area.

a pot would hold in moisture and a big pot would be sufficient to grow a 5-10 foot plant but not allow the water to venture very far..



what do you think ?

Using a 5 gallon bucket would still be great for this time. Dont burry it though. I personally like to plant mine straight into the soil. Over the years of adding; bat guano, chicken manure, my hamsters poo, egg shells, the soil really seems to have amended itself. I top them to get two really big main colas. My plants love it. Just try to find the spot in your yard that gets the most sunlight exposure. =)
