Outdoor Grow...dry question

I'll be doing my thing this year but I need anyones input on this or suggestions. When it comes time to harvest, I really don't have anywhere to dry, house is out of the question due to smell etc etc. Has anyone ever successfully dried outside? Where I am at it can be quite humid during the summer month. Could I possibly devise a container to dry it in outdoors? I know weather temps and humidity are major factors but is it possibly to pull it off provided its the right time of year and possibly use the fall weather to my advantage? Hope this all made sense and take care everyone!~

this is how the mexicans did it and do it
this is how the jamaicans did it and do it
this is how the africans did it and do it
this is how the chinese did it and do it.

ofcourse we got smarter and we found better ways to dry it..more techniques.

but seriously, out there they harvest and just throw em down on a grass field to dry...same way they make cigars in cuba....

hope this all made sense and take care ;)

mainly just block excess wind from reaching it, but still let them breath. Don't let any light hit them, and in a couple of weeks should be good to go. I would get a pocket microscope, making sure you harvest at the right time is VERY important.

i would lay a piece of wood down, as big as all your plants laying down together, and make a shed type design for the roof to block the sunlight. Next, i would block the front and back of it, to stop the wind. At the bottom i would have some air holes and near the top as well (as long as rain couldn't get on your plants) good luck.

I dried some of mine outside last year and the quality suffered. The ones I dried inside were much better. But if thats all you got it will still get you just as high it just won't taste as good. If you grow cheese or sour diesel they will still taste pretty good after being dried harshly in the outdoors.

why a pocket microscope? to check the crystals out before cutting ? when is it the perfect time? when they start bending a little?

thanks

Yes, to check the crystals before cutting. You want at least 30X strength, mine is 60X - 100X and i love it and it was only 8 dollars. Perfect time depends on what your going for. General rule is- Amber crystals are for more of a body buzz (like lay you down for a while, best with indica plants) White cloudy crystals (very cloudy but hasn't changed to amber yet) are for a head high, you'll still have energy to function normally and still be very high. These are best with mostly sativa plants, but experiment and see what you like. Oh and also, they all don't change at the same time.

i was planning on drying outdoors too, but instead i am gunna build a box and attach like 3 carbon filters to it, probably super overkill butthey are cheap enough to build so its better safe than sorry.

You must have bought the same 'scope I did! It works good but I was looking at the bud's today and they look cloudy but the
hairs have only half turned... It's only in week 6 of budding and it's a Kannibia Power Skunk...

don't worry about the hair pistils, the hairs are what catches pollen from the male to make seeds. The Crystals are what get you high, worry about them.
With the Kannibia Power Skunk you can go either way, since its nearly 50% 50% indica and sativa but which ever way you go will greatly affect the outcome. If you want the best of both worlds usually the main cola turns brown faster, the side shoots would still be cloudy.
