hey man,

pretty much wat u plan to do is wat i have exactly, an outdoor DWC setup around the side growing monsters ahahah

only im not worried about how big they get, the bigger the better :joint:

i would definetly not buy a ready made DWC setup seeing it is probably the easiest thing in the world to make yourself and for really cheap

all you need is good sized (~20L) storage container with a lid, some hydro pots (with lots of holes), an aquarium air pump and airstone, and then some perlite/clay pebbles etc. thats it.

my storage container was clear so just roughed it up with sand paper and painted it dark green (any dark colour will do) so no light gets in.
then cut holes in your lid so your pots sit nice and flush with the lid.
drill a small hole some where at the top of the container for your air hose, plug on the air stone add plants and your done.

check out my thread from ages ago before plants got big!

hope this helps and feel free to PM me with any other qs mate

i will take new pics tomorow and show a comparison between my hydros and non hydro plants its crazy.

peace :joint:

im no hydro expert but i dont think its a good idea, cos apparently it will go toxic after being used for a while, ie not good for your plants...

only problem i have had with outdoor hydro is evapouration, with consistent hot weather i have to top up my reserviour a couple of times a week, but i think its ok because my nutrients cant evapourate so they stay in there with the roots

Wow I am just starting to do that same thing DWC in greenhouse but living in hawaii the temp humidity heck same inside as out lol
but think this way anytime you can use natural sunlight the better. from what i have been reading (if you use DWC res and with pland directly above) you need to change the water nutes once a weak also clean the res. I am using cheep sterallite tubs 6 bucks @ wallMart just have 2 containers so one cleas can be used just rotate every week just move the lid...

Also I just learned today from the Hydro store here to start put the water level just to the bottom or just a bit higher of the net pot.
When you see roots lower the level to 1/2 and the roots will take off.

Also plants are like kids if you give them everything they want they turn out to be well BRATS make them work for what they need they become strong. give them all the nuts they nees but less is more if you know what I mean...

I tryed this out lats year i got a late start in a short growing season but all in all it was pretty nice. I took an old cooler i had and made holes for three square pots. I had to tomato plants (best tomatos ever) and one bagseed which turned purple. The cooler was to help keep temps stay nice. The buds on the plant were some of the most desne buds i've ever grown i barely lost wait on the dry it was a nice experiment. All organics if u consider ff organinc.
