Outdoor Seedling Info-I Think They're Going Bad

SO i've started some seeds in some those seedling starters that flowers come in, and put in some leaf mold(decomposed leaves), a little peat moss, and the seeds in the soil. A few things I think I might have done wrong is packed the soil to tight and maybe not put the seeds in far enough because some are pushing themselves out and when i check they are laying sideways on the top of the soil. Also, there was a tray under the seedlings that ended up flooding with rain water and the soil was sitting in it for the night. Is this bad? But, what I was mostly wondering is how should I care for the seedlings and what should I make sure I do. I planted them 5 days ago and onlyu a few are showing through.:leaf:

I would recommend you get some better soil but, the water situation is alot worse the plants cant drown or they die so that is probably why they are stunted now and not a good start at all. The seed should planted no more then 3/4 of an inch and you dont ever want to pack the soil down on them, if anything just water the soil good before you put the seeds in that will pack down the soil good enough. Good Luck!

They look pretty healthy. They are growing fine and one has its 3rd leaves come out after the cotyledon. BUt if they've been stressed so bad are they really heathy? Won't they just end up as males and not grow good?

It all depends on the strain and how prone they are to stress it really just depends. Keep your eye on them and try to be a better parent thats all and they should be fine.
