Ive moved my wifes outdoor Sativa to inside my CFL flowering grow box. Its doing healthy, brown tips on pistils and lots of tri's on the leafs. However, getting anxious we hacked one bud last night and left to dry until today. It went from very potent smelling to smelling like grass clippings in less than 24hrs.
We have not smoked it yet, but im sure its days are numbered. What happened to the smell?

Any thoughts lmk

The bud is ridding itself of chlorophyll as it dries. No worries.

See the RIU section on harvesting and curing. Best to cure bud for 3-4 weeks for that nice danky smell.

after u dry ur buds if u cure them inside glass jars it will get rid of the grass clipping smell, thats the chlorophyll breaking down that give off that smell

yah, i would agree with the person who said it was premature.. if you have like a 30x loupe, look at the buds thru it.. you want to look at the trics.. they look like lil loolipops to me.. as they mature, the heads turn from a clear to cloudy and then to amber.. you will want to wait till all of the clear have turned amber cloudy atleast, or amber. the more heads that turn cloudy, the more of a couchlock kinda high you get... also, the other person who said that the chlorophyl is escaping is also right, but your buds should still retain that smell when they are mature.. i did a test with my first grow and chopped one of the smaller popcorn buds down early, and had the same result.. smelled like wet grass.. just give them more time and you will be golden
