1 week old clones transplanted to 10g full of 75% ffof and 25% perlite. I have been watering 1 gallon per day. I understand put your finger in but water could be lower in? Long story short, norcal weather + the plants drinking could mean I should water daily or no?

1 gallon is not enough for a 10 gal pot.

On my outside plants, I do about 3 or 4 gallons, or until I get good runoff, every 3-5 days, depending.

Make sure ALL the medium in the pot is saturated, and the let it get almost dry before watering again.

Every time you water, water as slowly as you can, make sure your medium is mostly wet, before you pour a whole bucket of water on them.
If you don't the water will just run right out of your container, the water creates channels in the medium and will drain out right away (curse you gravity and surface tension). Give them all a quick splash ( a few cups all around the base), smoke a joint then finish all the watering, you carried the water all the way in, might as well make sure it's where you want it.
I water like this with everything from 6" to 6'
If the watering is to much, get them out of buckets, and into holes in the ground, that way if you miss a watering you are not stressing about your bone dry pots all day at work. lol

water to runoff when the top 1/2" of soil is dry, if I know its gonna be a hot day (95-100+) and the soil is still a lil moist I'll water to make sure she is nice, cool and has plenty to drink. In hot weather (95+) you are prob gonna have to water like every day. its 104 today were Im at and the gals are gonna be love'n that water I gave them earlier.

I just gave them 2 gallons each and 30 minutes later they seem to be shooting for the sun like it's the last piece of food on the planet earth. This rocks :)
