Outdoor

Okay, I have been growing indoor for a while now and Ive decided to take my hobby outdoors. I have a few questions, first, I am curious about the bud quality on an outdoor plant. I use seeds that are ordered from seed banks and I know about fertilizing and everything but I am just curious about the bud's potency not being quite as good outdoor? also what is the general ratio of yeild outdoor vs. indoor? I live in a hot climate and in can reach the hundreds, is this going to be a major problem? my last question is to keep all the animals away, does the liquid fence and all those other repellents work at keeping away critters? must i get chicken wire? Thanks for any info or just any advice on how to make the most of outdoor growing.

I am no expert on growing by any means, I have grown my own plants though for 38 years with what I consider good success. First, if you are putting your plants outside and they are under about 12 inches I always put wire around them, rabbits love a good plant along with other critters. Second, your plants have evolved untold years surviving in the outdoors they like it there hot or not. I am very old fashion in my growing and much outdated according to most on this site, but you will enjoy watching your plants growing according to the cycle of the seasons and you can have smoke that is equal to that inside if not better in my opinion. I much prefer the taste of the smoke that is grown and cured the natural way. I prune, talk to and baby my plants daily, I also (remember I am from the 60's) enjoy smoking the leaves around the plant and talking to them for encouragement. This site is a wealth of info on all aspects of growing, curing and smoking but alas the newer generations seem to have lost the magical connection to the weed. Best of luck growing and remember you are going if all things work out correctly getting more smoke outside than inside.

Hey I find outdoor you get alot more and it is stronger then indoors... I got 12 pounds off 40 plants.. one plant i got 3/4 pound. This pot was as good as it gets.

Hi, shiman, welcome to the site.....you make some valid points in your post...IMO, the most important aspect of growing is "getting to know" each plant you grow…after awhile you develop a sense of what each plant needs to optimize growth....very low tech, but crucial.

Dursky, I agree, outdoor grown buds are usually more potent and tasty!

critters are allways a problem but a way to get the rabits and other larger animals away is to get some peper spray and spray it around the perimiter of the plats this will keep them away for a couple weaks
also works for intruters if you now what i mean LOL :)

and outdoors is so much cheaper then indoors with the HID's...But you cant grow certain indoor strains outside...And some of the best but outdoors Have the most gratest potent and tasty...And they have almost the same amount of resin as indoors but not the total same...And you get more yeild and more bud outside..But it takes a long time...so outdoor growing is the best.....lol...
