Outlawing guns is pointless and only hurts law abiding citizens

So a shooting happens and people think gun control is the answer. For the most part, most gun crimes happen by criminals who acquired a gun illegally. Taking guns away from law abiding citizens will only leave the criminals armed. Yea, it's the same old argument, but it is the argument that makes the most sense.

Even if by some magical wave of the wand guns disappeared from the country, the gunman that killed all those kids would still have that murderous intent. And with that murderous intent, he could have made several home made bombs, all of the ingredients are available at your local grocery and hardware stores. He might have even decided to get in a car and run those kids down on their way to the bus.

The current Administration has stated they are not trying to overturn that right, but let's be honest, there are way too many Democrats in this country now that would rather the criminals be armed to the teeth than let me have even one single pistol. Because come on now, criminals will get weapons. That's why they are criminals, they don't follow gun-control mandates.

LOL, look at Chicago, they have the tightest gun control in the country next to D.C., but that sure didn't stop them from having the highest number of homicides in recent memory.

This will have no effect on gun control whatsoever.
People that talk about gun control always talk about gun control
People that talk about 2nd amendment rights always talk about 2nd amendment rights.

What we are going thru now is a trend. Hopefully this mass shooting is the end of it. Who knows. Maybe some other disturbed person will try to outdo this one and become notorious

This will not be the end of mass killings. In a country of 300 million people you can be certain that there are some crazy mofos out there, sometimes they become dictator and murder millions ala Stalin and Hussein.

It will happen again.

Hopefully the press will not even mention this guys name or try to milk as much as they can out of this tragedy.
Columbine wasn't the only school shooting that happened that year. It was actually the last. The difference between the other 3 and Columbine was after columbine. They didnt talk about the shooters as much as they did the victims

But he didn't make home made bombs, and many acts of gun violence are not premeditated and making a bomb might have given the guy enough time to consider his actions. This is a non-argument, if there were no guns in the U.S. there would be far far fewer mass murders such as this one. Making guns illegal would mean that gun manufacturers would not produce as many and they would not send them into the general population. As I have said, dynamite is rarely used to commit murder - it is closely controled and is not easily accessable.

that being said, as I have said before - this is sadly going to happen in our culture given our consitution. Live with it but don't make up excuses.

So, we arm every teacher in america. How many years will it take for accidents and... nutzoid teachers to kill 20 people? and we make shooting range participation a part of that teacher's job. Hell with those teachers who don't want to carry a gun, it is for the children's protection. Even those who's religions frown on their bearing weapons.

Then we make it a volunteer thing and then no one has to cry about being forced into it. Doubt any school would be short of volunteers, and if they are and a gun man comes to that school, well we know how that story goes when only one person has a gun in a gun fight.

I dont think I would support open carry for this though. The students can't know where the firearm is for obvious reasons. Something on site somewhere, atleast some grenade style mace or sleeping agents, fucking something even if it disables everyone for the moment, atleast the shooting will stop long enough for someone to get in there before everyone is dead.

If only there was enough "nerf" for the whole world, eh canndo?

Psychiatrists already stated his act was pre meditated.

by your logic, we should ban mcdonalds for killing people through slower methods such as diabetes or obesity, we should ban cars for running over people and killing some, oh and we should ban the internet cause there is plenty of crimes committed through the web.

people who think guns are at fault should be examined in a mental ward. Totally ignoring the sick demented individual who kills in masses just cause they used a gun is on the verge of psychosis.

I winder why its so easy for criminals to obtain guns illegally, oh wait, that's right, because they're so readily available to buy or buy and pass in, there is a reason so few crimes committed in other countries involve guns. If a criminal doesn't think the victims will carry a gun mist of the the time the criminal will not bother taking one with him. Why increase the punishment if caused ht for no reason, your demand for legal guns are the cause for their illegal guns, you people are so ignorant, it it highly amusing.

i understand your point of view, and as with most complicated subjects i think banning/criminalizing is the worst way, but the fact of the matter is the US has a huge problem with gun violence.
Outlawing is ridiculous but much more control is needed. For instance, i see no point in being able to buy an AK-47 in a country like the US. seriously.

In China, a man slashed 22 children this yesterday but not not one of them died. Like this guy at CNN posted "School shootings in America are a product both of mad people and bad laws." We have to put more effort on finding these deranged people but the laws make it way too easy for them.

I'm on a tablet using a touch screen keyboard, and not proof reading. Boohoo. Great response though, you really changed peoples minds. You really are a jackass you know, yo need to get this "I'm perfect" notion out of your head, I think countless people have put this point across to you in recent history. If you are incapable of noticing the mistakes yet understand what I had meant, then well sod it, you're bloody retarded :-) Hey, I can sink to your level if you like. I'd rather be unable to type than be unable to stay out of prison.

Come up with a mature response next time if you can't handle the notion of your laws being flawed.
