Over-nite problem with outdoor plant

Last nite I covered my outdoor plant with a black trash bag to protect it from the frost advisory. This morning when I took it off, it displayed some serious signs of discomfort. Anyone know what this is or what caused this to happen??

Notice the browning of many leaves.

Today marks week 8 of flowering and I'm contemplating cutting her down to save her from the recent damage. What do you guys/gals think about this scenario?

Peace

If you live in Socal or a very hot area of cali then its best to not cover plants from rain, even in flowering, at least for me...i learned the hard way last year, covered my crop and it just created a very hot humid and moist environment and had tops molding like crazy, this year im just letting my buds get wet and letting the sun dry em out. seems to be safer.

it looks like covering it with the bag kept moisture from escaping. be careful of mold!
I was thinking that it could be a moisture issue. I pruned most of the affected leaves off and got rid of them. It's really getting down to the wire with the cold weather and frost in my region. I just took a popcorn nug off and attempted to smoke it. Obviously it's still extremely moist and sticky but I did get a bit of a head change. I don't know whether to cut her down(bc I don't think she's quite ready after 8 weeks) or to risk the frost!? Obviously bagging it over-nite is no longer an option, but one frosting and she will go under. Help!

I live in KY where the weather changes drastically on a day to day basis. Rain is not an issue, it loves nitrogen rich rain-water. The frost that can come over-nite will kill the plant even only after one nite/morning of it.

check out the weather man for the nexr week or two it could have been something in the plastic of the bag that affected the plant you never know. if its not supposed to get cold enough for a frost for another week or two start flushing and have a great harvest!

honestly i would let her go one frost before i cut her i would take my chances and then look her over ive even heard cases of people not even pulling their crop until the first frost. i guess it depends on what kind of climate they live in

Thanks for your insight, I appreciate it. Does she look ready to harvest to you? A lot of the hairs are still white with just the tips turning red. There is a lot of trichome development but nothing appears amber in that area. I'm not sure if the trichomes have even started to cloud up yet.

let her go if the hairs rnt turning red or amber dont harvest the plant is still imature it will get you high but you will be much more pleased if you bite the bullett and let her go for a little while longer

I totally agree with that concept pit, but the problem is that she's kind of at an in between stage. All of the hairs have turned red on the tips but not completely red. As far as I can tell the trichomes haven't turned amber yet. She is 8 weeks into flower as we speak so theoretically she can be harvested. I want to wait longer to harvest if possible but one nite under the bag developed some molding it appears. Also, one nite of frost and she could be killed. Also, I'm unsure about what the mold may do...will it spread or be contained?? I trimmed each leaf/branch affected by the mold and disposed of them.

Thanks for your insight guys!
Peace.

mold is bad bad bad man whats the humyidity like is it pretty wet at night then gets cold if there is mold it probably most likely came from having the bag over the plant it acted like a dome the mold shuldent spread it just depends the plant needs to dri out i wish you the best of luck it sounds like it culd be harvested if the problem continues be sure when you do harvest that you hang it in a very dry place

I think it is exactly what you said about doming in the moisture, it happened over-nite for gosh sakes! The current conditions here are: 67 deg 27% hum. It gets down into the 40's during nite hours. To be completely honest I'm not sure if it's actually mold or not.. Thankfully nothing spread into the actual buds whatever it is. I am torn between chopping her or potentially losing her to frost by tomorrow!!!

There are frost advisories in and around my area for the next couple days. There is a chance the frost could hit certain areas and not others.:wall: Decisions decisions.

Lol I'm probably going to try and leave it for at least a couple more days and continue flushing. It hasn't been flushed enough to my liking yet and the threatening frost isn't helping!!

put a sheet over it. That will help minimize damage while still allowing the plant to breathe. Farmers do this often.

i agree with the sheet thing that could work i would take my chances on the frost. i still think if u let it go further even with the chance of frost it will turn out better than if u cut it now
