I think what he means is you dont have access to the exclusive og cuts that some clubs in cali have. Have heard a lot about sfv og being one of the strongest ogs but I may never get the chance to grow a cut that is legitimately sfv og. I think the large problem with og is that is was the strain to have for a while and now everyone just uses it as some marketing gimmick

I smoked OG #18 (s1 of OG Kush) and "OG Kush" (both from reserva privada, don't know what cut those are based on) and quite a few OG Kush crosses. Grown only Skywalker Kush. It's the thing they have in common I don't like... Smoked hundreds of strains over 2 decades, there so much better stuff out there, for smoking and crossing. Surely it's not all bad, but again overrated. Your argument that only a few of the many OG Kush strains being sold are good only confirms that. Ah.... there was the punchline... love the irony

If i was to grow this s1 and hand out clones of it i wouldn't just pass it off as sfv og..
That would be wrong. I would make sure to clarify its an s1 since it ISN'T an exact copy of the clone only strain.
So basically your judging crosses and s1's not the real deal clone. Which is fine just don't say the real ogkush is garb if you've never smoked it.

well here's my opinion based on dozens of clone only strains grown out:
OG Kush is probably the most overrated weed. ive personally grown i'd say 6 different cuts of it. and also purchased it from the collectives. its OK. dont know what the hell all the hype is about. its just good weed. not great.
Skunk: sure it smells amazing. but the bud is damn ugly if you have skunk #1. small popcorn airy pieces.
Girls scout cookies: yes its stony weed, but dont see what all the hype is about. its just good weed. yes i know theres all sort of phenos out there. ive smoked thin mint. its good. but why the expensive ticket?
strains that are not over-rated:
GDP, assuming you have a good cut and grow it right, gdp is one of the best strains for indica. smell, bud structure, yield, taste, and the best body buzz indica effects ever.
Cherry pie; falls into the same category as gdp considering its gdp x durban. i think cherry pie is way better than any girls scout cookies and dont know why GSC gained more hype than the pie.
Salmon Creek; a strain forever lost? i cant find this anywhere, bud, seeds, or clones. i used to get it like 10 years ago, huge orange buds just glistening in frost with the best orange grit taste. high was to die for.
Blue dream- blueberry with the largest yield ever in a 9 week time span. gets the heart racing.
i think anybody can list their favorites for different reasons. it all breaks down to what floats your boat the best and gives you the best medical qualities. but OG KUSH, GIRL SCOUT COOKIES (OG cross), and SKUNK are strains that the hype just needs to disappear. i know skunk is probably one of the past. and its considered an originator of the good weed era. but OG kush needs to go. and stop crossing everything in the world with OG kush, my god. if anything cross stuff with grandaddy. at least you get amazing flavor and bud density from it. i had a bagseed of mr nice that i got from humboldt, i grew a seed out, and it went hermi also. it pollinated a GDP. popped a seed of that, and no hermi traits (probably because gdp is so stable).. it has the smell, the taste, the bud density of GDP, but it grows tall and branches out like sativa mr nice. every single branch is buds rock hard the size of a forearm. if it was OG x mr nice it'd just be another watered down strain with a popular name. GDP speaks for itself in its traits. i just hate og kush because ive bought clones from different collectives all over the bay to LA and have never been happy with the final product. its fkn annoying to go to LA collectives and see a menu 75% og kush crosses. get some damn variety. not everybody smokes to get high. some people actually want medical relief.
and yes one of the clones ive grown out was Tahoe OG. one of the originals.

agent orange the phoenoes we ran actualy very high septibal to mold the high was a mid.. but i could be wrong it all depends on the pheno, jamacan me crazzy the phenoes i ran hermed, plush berry the phenoes we ran realy fucken hermed big big fucken time and the smoke was in the mids to low highs,sugar og or sugar cookies was frostie but a mid, mr nice was a mid, big bud sux balls, purple green crack sucked big balls, this pheno of tangie that i got i been sitting on a unit for like 2 months fucken frostie supper nugie supper big yield just a mid?? must be the phenoe??? remember it comes down to the phenoe i suspect in the end????
