Overripe or budrot?

Hi, I'm a complete newbie who doesn't pay close enough atttention to my crops. This week I started to panic when I noticed some parts of my buds turning brown on one of my unknown strain plants..Im pretty sure its overripe because I was waiting for my trichomes to turn pale orange like they're supposed to but I don't know whether or not I have left it too long..

Those are definitely not over-ripe.
There's not much calyx or trich development.
I don't know what's wrong with them but they appear to be toast.
Almost looks fungal ... like a blight.
I don't see anything harvestable.
I'd cull, clean massively and try again.

Definitely something wrong. Some type of rot maybe, I don't know exactly.

If that brown/dead stuff is not removed it may begin to mold. Although like salt said, it's spread throughout , don't know what can be salvaged.

I'm more curious to know why that would have occurred as well. (His pictures look outdoor to me, so a variety of elements?) If indoor would it come down to fungal/bacteria and lack of air circulation?

that's Bud rot or wilt, sorry there's no good news, I suppose you could try to clip out anything you could save but you better do it quickly, I wouldn't smoke any of it myself

I cant look at the pics for some reason
But with bud rot you will usually see a leaf or two on the bud itself dying while the ones around it are fine.

If you break that bud apart you will probably find it.

I don't understand why I can only see placeholders instead of pics.

This usually happens when the roots are exposed to excessive moisture and die.

Constant flow hydro systems are prone to bud rot.

Be sure the plant(s) have adequate drainage. If a plant pot gets plugged and can't drain, this can happen, etc.

Exactly.
Bud rot usually affects the calyxes more than the leaves.
The leaves in these pics are beyond dead ... and there's hardly any calyxes.
