Overwatering in the AG?

Here's a good one. Is it possible for plants to show signs of overwatering in a system like an AG, that I basically use like a DWC? hat is to say that I don't use the pump, I use an aquarium pump with a bubble curtain. If overwatering can be a problem in DWC what's the solution?

I went to the grow store, I told the guy working at the store that it seems everyone has yellow leaf problems. I told him I had some yellow leafs in my aero system, he ask if I was over watering I said I didn't think I was.

I did order some instant water on the internet though, you never know, so it's always better to be prepared.

Green Scoundrel: Why did you remove the pump? And more importantly, how did you do it? The A/G is nothing more than an active DWC once the roots get to the water level in the reservoir. The pump feeds the distribution manifold on the underside of the planting deck and that's what keeps the upper roots wet and fed . I can see the addition of an aquarium air pump, I think we all agree on the need for that, but why take the A/G's pump out of the equation? To me that doesn't make sense.

I don't use the pump because it was suggested to me on my last grow by Mr. SICC and it worked pretty damn well for me. The AG pump feeds water from the base of the stem. If I've got roots hanging into the water and good bubbles from my air curtain/airstone, why run the AG pump at all? Also as someone points out in the submersible heater thread the AG pump generates heat and warms up your reservoir. No good.

interesting. makes sense, ima turn my pump off, extra electricity as well
