Ok, so here's the deal...
I run 5 separate hydro systems in 2 rooms. 2 hydro systems for veg and 3 for flowering. Systems in veg room have 30 gal reservoirs and systems in flowering room have 40 gal reservoirs. Even when these are "full" I have them topped off at 25-35 gallons. I currently have an air pump in each room that I use to keep the reservoir water oxygenated. Each pump pushes just under 5 psi diffused into the different reservoirs. I recently came across an Invacare Platinum XL oxygen concentrator and was wondering how it could/would benefit my plants?? I know pushes a 5 psi, but I need to do a little more research to make sure the system can be turned on and off on my timer (I only run the pumps for 1 hr on 3 hours off schedule). Timed to go in sequence with my water pump to make sure my tables flood when water is nice and oxygenated.
Sorry for the rambling, but Im just trying to paint the picture for you guys...
The concentrator is loud, but I dont see it as a huge problem since my rooms are tucked away and closest neighbor is about a 5-6 minute drive away.
The problem I do have is the oxygenator runs at almost 400 watts.
The way I calculate it is almost 900 kwh a year vs. 9 or 10 kwh for the pump Im using now.
CO2 in my flowering room is set for 1400ppm.
My questions are...
1) Will my plants benefit from the "pure" oxygen from the concentrator over the regular pumped air enough to justify the extra operating expense?
If so, then...
2) Will the pump benefit my vegging plants (for vigorous growth and root development) or my flowering plants (for bud development) more?
Thanks for any help you can provide...
