Oxygenating the roots?

I think that it's worth a shot. I have never really read up on how o2 helps the roots I just know it helps. I think you should do a journal and try one row w/o2 and one w/o. I'm sure a ton of people would be interested.
yep - we love experiments!

the oxygen is only really potent in the buckets after it gets out of the buckets and rocks its diffused by fans.i may also start a journal.im thinking of some way to seperate the o2 and the co2 during flowering.i could flower the whole batch right now but im going to root at least 20 to 30 clones for an outside geurilla grow. i live in a jungle in southeast texas if you look at a map its really green here, when we were kids fighting wars in these woods like little boys do it was like the jungle in thailand or the phillipines.i know ive been to both.theres also limit less supplies of water.i will constantly have at least one or two in the closet sucking on oxygen like there heart patients lol.:peace:

ps i am using 6 in airstones in 6in baskets with white sterilized vermiculite for fish tanks.Someone metioned dive gas,i believe the o2 from the machine is 90 percent.and the {patient] has plenty of e sized oxygen tanks so the machine is only used when im running it lol.i built on the bubbler idea from the grow bible and using purer than atmospheric air seemed the way to go.within the next two weeks ill start identical clones in a controlled inviroment.1 with an air pump one on o2,same nutrient solution.there may be a few bugs as far as litres per minute but it will be close.any ideas???????peace

Sounds really intersting. I will be taking a close look at what you do.

I wonder if you could make it more efficant by recelying the escaping O2 from the REZ.
I asoom that the bubbles that pop at the serface would be almost pure O2.

Just off the top of my head,
The air pumps are put into a sealed box that you can pump pure o2 into, the air pumps then pump this air into the rez. There would need to be a return pipe going from the top of the rez back up to the box.
The rez would need to be well sealed too. That way you save o2 and are not pumping 02 into the room, that would make it easyer to full the room with Co2.

At some piont there would need to be air taken out of the system, some sort of valve on a timer.

Of course it would just be simpler to have the pipe in the top of the rez just venting out of the room.

Might work?

Excellent idea, but I can see one problem. The sample size is not statistically significant. I'm sure you know what that means but for anyone listening in who doesen't......here goes. I currently have eight plants growing from eight supposedly identical clones. Most are similar, one is a monster, one is a midget. If my midget was in your pure O2 and the monster in the the air bubbler they might be the same size and you might conclude there is no difference. The only way to do it would be to have maybe sixteen identical clones in two different grows. That would be REAL tough to pull off.
But try two and see what happens. Just make sure the ventillation is real good!
Where will you post the results? This could be groundbreaking research.
Imagine that......Hydrotech....the guy who made it neccessary for us fanatics to have one more high pressure gas tank in our grow room!:bigjoint:

great idea green man ill make a manifold for the air pumps. Then ventilate the bucket/pump chamber outside.my clones are usually very consistent as far as stages looks and height but youre right erbose needs to be more than two.wont have any problem slinging the airdro and ill smoke the oxydro.LOL i have a papaya strain and a nl cross almost ready for cloning.think ill use the papaya for pic purposes awesome blue leaves on gold buds, potent too.guess we'll need some judges for this thing!!!!!!!:peace::blsmoke:

No Not at all!! I'd like to see what happens!! I am at least a year or more off before I can put together my dream system, I have to travel for work in the summers so its hard for me to grow. but I have some ideas that I would love to see happen before I can grow. this way I can live vicariously threw you guys until my life settles down. when I'm ready my grow box is going to be 3X3X 4' tall, and have with at least 1 air cooled 400wt HPS light (or maybe a 600 wt.(Probably a couple small 70 wt MH for full spectrum)), aeroponics, full mylar, CO2, ScrOG, carbon scrubber, and if it works out Oxygenated roots!!:joint::hump:

At least thats my dream:mrgreen::peace:

OH yeah and if I find any new rediculous ideas between now and then I will probably add those on as well

Would you kill the roots if you watered (Misted) them non stop and had a fan blowing on them at the same time?
